Another good pc game that i know many are addicted too lol me being one of them.I figured i would create a few threads for well known games and hope to find some people who share the same interest. This thread can be used for ALL games.1,2 and 3.
The funny thing about my sims *i play 2 mostly tho i have 1 and 3 as well* I love to put final fantasy sims inside my game haha :D
If you havent played final fantasy (mainly 7-10.2) then you might not really know the characters i use in this game.I have houses ranging from 7 to kingdom hearts.tho i dont have 12 just yet (just a few but not worth the build) ill share a video of my 7 house if anyone is interested in it,doesnt know what i mean or has never played the sims before.
Sim Fantasy Randomness {2} (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Vrcd3Acz3A#)

Oh gosh, I haven't played the sims in about 10 years...is it still any good?
Fond memories though of all the happy little male domestic partner relationships I used to make ;D
Yeah its still good tho in my opinion 3 was lacking some compared to 2.2 has and always will be awesome :D which is what i used in the video
I used to love Sims 2 so much. I couldn't get into 3, so I stopped playing.
I couldn't get into that one, so I gave the game to my sister. My nephew is about addicted to that game as any person can possibly be addicted to anything. I do like SimCity though.
Sims 3 is like eh blah whatever in my opinion, sure the graphics are good but that doesnt always make it better.Yea sims is a game for few people who like playing a persons mind (many call it playing God but thats not the case here) at least i dont see it that way, like the mind tells your body when your hungry, tired, need the bathroom and so on.
i have sims 1, 2, and 3 with the expansions.
In my opinion, I love Sims 3 much more. I find it to be more immersible. I love the fact that I can jog from my house to the movie theatre without a loading screen.
Also, sims 3 "seasons" blows sims 2 "seasons" right out of the water. When it snows, your windows fog up, the snow literally covers anything that its exposed too...looks very realistic. You can see your footprints in the snow.
There's nothing wrong with Sims 2 either but in sims 3 when I go to work, it isn't a rabbit hole. My profession is Home Designer and I go to people's homes and design their dream room with the monies they give me.
Plus there are some construction abilities that aren't possible for Sims 2. Like, I love the fact I can place a coffee table, magazines or anything anywhere i want and not be limited by the building grids.
And a nice thiing about sims 3 is the fact that you dont have to make them pee or eat or shower as often as you had to in sims 1 and 2
And the fact that you can make a 90 floor apartments/club/business sky scrapper (fully functional) in sims 3 is mindblowing.

those are actual livable sim buildings
I love the Sims!! Can't believe you didn't get into the Sims 3. :P Every sims game I hated having to spend most of my time at my house and then Sims 3 comes along. ^.^ My playstyle's different in 3 though. In past games I focused on mainly one family where as in 3 I'm trying to run the whole town.
Ugh, ever since Seasons my Sims 3 game crashes after 1-2 sim days. -.- And that's only if I never go in CAS, otherwise it crashes after like 3 minutes.
I think it's because I had the sims 2 with all the expansions and so many amazing outfits and homes and then I got sims 3 when it first came out and NONE of that stuff was available on it yet. I bet 3 is a lot better now that it's had time to mature.

Sims 3 seasons requires a lot of graphic intense play. Google "can i RUN it." And picks sims 3 season. Also, if it crashes you may have a custom item that is conflicting with the code.

How old is Sims 3? I know for SimCity 4, I had to put it in compatability mode to get it to stop random crashing on me. It also seemed to work to set processor affinity to just one processor.
I believe Sims 3 came out in 2009.
So far it has 8 expansions and 8 stuff packs. Sims 3 University Life will be released soon.

that sucks o_O gotta make sure you dont have any hacks or mods inside that could be causing it.i had one that i found was causing it.
Sims 2 will always be my thing.maybe cause i spent a LONG time playing it before hand, like when feeding a baby,i just loved the idea of going to the fridge ya know? seemed more real.in the sims 3,the bottle appears from their butt o_O LOL aka out of no where lol

Mmmkay scratch that, actually my game has less frequent random crashes on low settings now, so the problem isn't really that. The problem is that everytime I try to save I get fricken ERROR CODE 12!!!!!!!!! > : O And then it crashes afterwards and I lose everything. -.-"

ah i see.just sounds like a game issue then or computer issue *like it doesnt crash as much on low settings* that you cant really help.its a good game and sorry to hear thats happening.us gamers have our get aways and gets frustrating when that get away is being a pain lol
It really shouldn't be so much trouble to play a video game though. >.>
Sims error code 12 means you do not have the necessary graphics memory to run the game.
Google "Can I run it" and look up Sims 3 Seasons and tell me what it says for your system.
Error Code 12 is a PC system issue...not a software one. Hope that helps.
Ok sorry, I did before but it got all glitchy and kept asking me to press continue when I tried it before but now it's working (I guess cause I downloaded that app).
It says I meet all the minimum requirements. My computer's 32-bit, my CPU speed is 2.3 GHz, I'm using a AMD Radeon HD 6450 video card, and I have 3.1 GB of RAM and tons of disk space.
That does sound more than adequate.
Like I said before, SimCity 4, which I assume is made by the same people, randomly crashed on me a lot and I have a top of the line system. How many people have 4GB of video ram and 32GB of system ram? Not to mention lots of processors. It's actually a server I use for other things, but I game on it too. Setting processor affinity to just one processor stopped the crashes for me. I'd give it a shot on The Sims as well.

To run most of the Sims3 expansions you really need a 64bit PC. A 32 isn't really on the minimum list. That card also scores a 297 out of 5,552 (higher the better...5,552 being the best).
Your video card should run it but I'm thinking the 32 bit is what's doing it.
A lot of people with 32 bit are having issues.
Mine is crappy tho it could be worse.I have a pentium dual,3gb ram (memory),32 bit,454 gb of disk space (with over 200 free),nvidia geforce 7100 series video card.so i clearly cant have it on max settings but even with the 32 bit (i use vista as well) i have no crashing but then again i believe i can change this to 64 through the nvidia interface tho i dont..could be wrong on that one, will have to check. Most of my crashing only came from having a bad hack or over use of memory (letting it sit on for LONG periods of time) otherwise im good.plus i also know that you must keep ANY item you place in the game,up to date with the current patch or its a testing game.i try not to patch up unless i have no choice and finding updated items is a pain.its why i just stick to the sims 2 because they put the patching in place to discourage people from making mods and hacks for the sims 3 (since that lawsuit against the sims 2 over such things.stupid in my opinion they would try and regulate the public and what they can do with their game but thats my opinion)
Actually the patching prevents piracy. I never heard of patching was created to discourage mods since they even host player created mods and items right on their official website.
What i mean by piracy is...to be more specific, you cannot pirated the stand alone Sims3 without adding expansions because it's impossible since the patching request checks the validity of the cd key (it's uniqueness) and the contents of the legitimate DVD. Although, the expansions can be pirated easily which makes patching also useful in another form.
Most of the patches will update game items by adding more content in the game.
The mods and items in their official website (which was created by users) will always work through patches and if you get mods and items outside of the website then you must find a person who will update their items when needed...which are a lot).
Plus, there is a simple program that lets you scan your mods, see if they are out of date and then updates it.
