What do we think about these vintage pictures from the 1930s and the 1940?

L. Katherine Hepburn R. Marlene Dietrich
The hair styling for Hepburn is decidedly female, and Dietrich's beret, makeup, and pose suggest feminine to me, but both images give me mixed signals.
Stylish!
I look forward to the day when I can wear men's clothing, and still appear to be androgynous female. Probably more in the Patti Smith/Laurie Anderson mode though.

Nice pictures, Jamie D. Though the hairstyles really make them look so feminine.
I like it when a female can pull of a long hairstyle and still look androgynous, like in the pictures of Patti Smith that Zythyra posted.
Just now I found this website full of pictures with androgynous looking females.
Might give some hair and fashion inspiration to FtA's -- It sure does it for me!
Enjoy.
