Title: Florida endocrinologists
Post by: Trippnjazz on February 08, 2013, 02:34:15 PM
Hi,
I've been on T for almost 2 years and recently moved to Florida. I am in brevard county but can travel within the state. I am uninsured and am having problems finding endocrinologist's that are willing or have knowledge of HRT for transgender individuals. I no longer have a prescription as its been 6 months since I had seen my doctor and I had an appt. in Melbourne which called and cancelled stating the doctor does not "treat that". This is the only doctor I found online that suppsodely had a understanding of trans HRT . I am at the point of giving up. I have been searching for 6 months for a doctor that charges under $200 . I get my t from stroheckers for cheap and am not used the blatant trans phobic medical scene in brevard county. Anyone in the state of fl that has an endo or primary that is not trans phobic, please get back to me. Thanks!

Hi trippinjazz, I'm not familiar with where Brevard county is,  but I'm in Pensacola, and luckily we have a trans-friendly endo here, Dr. Vishnu Behari. I think there is another endo in mobile Alabama, but I don't know the name. If you Google Florida trans friendly professionals, you'll see resources for therapists, endo, support groups, etc. I hope this helps.  :)

Hey,

I don't know about Brevard, but I see everyone in Orlando.

I see a gynecologist who has a wonderful relationship with the LGBT community. To my knowledge she handles HRT for all of my therapist's patients (both FTM and MTF).

Also if you need a therapist, I see an Ann Currier of BHC consulting. She and BHC are awesome and specialize in LGBT needs.
