Title: Facial Hair Removal
Post by: gothtgirl on February 09, 2013, 09:31:54 AM
I want to get rid of my facial hair once and for all.  Can anyone help me with a solution?  I am 61, so my beard( I hate that word) is very coarse, mtf, African American, pre-op and I've been on HRT for 1 year.  I tried electrolysis a couple of times but can't afford it and didn't like the pain and swelling.  I can't use laser because I have a lot of gray hair and from what I've read laser doesn't kill gray hair.  I want a permanent solution, so that I can stop shaving.  Oh and I tried the NoNo hair removal system and it doesn't work.  I was reading about DHT but I have no experience with it and I was hoping that someone has knowledge of that product and how well it works or knows of a real solution that I can use immediately.   :'(

Sorry to say but the only permanent option you have is electo. Laser doesn't work on grey hair or if you have a darker complexion. I wouldn't put much hope in gizmo's like the NO NO and such. I agree electro. hurts like a BI*"#@  and expensive but its really is the only option.

Electrolysis is the only permanent solution. Sorry. You might look in to a provider with a YAG laser as it was designed to be used on people with darker skin tones (people of African, Latin, South Pacific descent etc.). The YAG laser will only help reduce the amount of hair so far though.
