I read an article a few weeks ago (and did not save the link, sadly) where the wife of a m2f mentioned something about body odour changes in her husband once he started on HRT. Does anyone have any insight into this? Was this due to a pre-HRT lack of hygiene or is there a change in odour to something a woman might find unpleasant? I've always heard that HRT changes sweat to a less intense, more sweet smell.
HRT changes the sex pheromones your body is producing. Straight men will like it more, straight women will like it less.
OK, that's what I figured it might be, pheromones. I guess people aren't really aware of them until they're with someone whose pheromones change. Thank you.

Yes my Doctor said this to me once after I started HRT.
Yep, my body odour definitely changed on hormones. You'll find you'll also become more sensitive to the odour of men (not just blatant bad body odour!) and less to women's.
Mines has subtly changed. Its no longer that "musky" man -smell (I can't think of a better way to describe it haha!) and is softer, sweeter and more feminine.
As Assoluta said, you do notice other people's scent more, and it can cause unexpected emotional reactions.
My body odor has definitely changed. It was actually one of the first changes I noticed. My clothes smell different now kinda has a sweet smell to it.
I haven't really noticed my own smell changing yet, (Probably not far enough into HRT yet,) but my reactions to other peoples' smells has certainly changed. Like before HRT I never even noticed my (female) roommate's body odor before, and thought that it was a bit pleasant on the few times that I did, but then one night a week or so ago when we were talking, and she hadn't taken a shower, suddenly I was completely taken aback by the smell. And likewise, when I'm dealing at my poker tables, I've noticed that I'm not as bothered by "man smell," while it used to be revolting.
I have a very sensitive nose and strong reactions to various smells so this will prove interesting when I begin HRT.
I know for sure mine changes drasticly with T as well as the ammount of oil I exude from my pores. I can tell the next day when I forgot the T blocker the day before. My wife has also noticed a drastic difference in my skin and body odor
Yes I've noticed an odor change
There was an unpleasant odor in the bedroom each morning when I was on Spironolactone, after my orchi it went away. I had to travel a lot so when I was gone my wife would snuggle up to my pillow and claimed that my former male scent had gone and had been replaced by what seemed like a more female scent.
That was pretty much the first thing I noticed about my wife - and she was very good about hygiene before and after, so it wasn't that. :) She just smelled *different.* The next time she exercised hard I also noticed she didn't get that strong male sweat smell (which I don't like, so I was glad it was gone!), but even her mild "resting" scent definitely changed. I'm not sure I could describe it, except to say that - and here's an argument for humans being mammals with pheromone/scent triggers - I'd occasionally wake up afraid I was in bed with a stranger, because she didn't smell RIGHT anymore. Fortunately, that wore off after a week or two once I adjusted.
When she had to go off hormones for GRS, that was the first change either of us noticed, too. Though it was also really the only one *I* could tell was different, since it was for such a short period (4 weeks).
It definitely changes. I don't even tend to notice my own body odor anymore when I used to be able to smell myself all the time. However both of my roommates (one a transgender lesbian, the other a cis gender straight male) both have told me I smell completely like a girl. I'll also go on to say my trans roommate smells in between at the moment at 4 months in. It's a pretty disgusting smell. However, my trans friends that have been on hrt for a while smell nothing like men, definitely female.
Yes, I've noticed a change. Not so much "to" another scent, but the lack of distinct male pungence, especially in the hamper on laundry day.
I sweat perspire less, too.
Yea my body odor basically went away instantly. I don't have to put deodorant on for a week if I don't want to, and I still don't even smell at all remotely bad.
Yeah, that was one of my favorite changes.
My old BO was replaced by a sweet lady smell. It's so cool to smell your skin and see that it smells soft and girly.
Around the same time guys started to smell really sexy. It's sort of like sexy masculinity incarnate, very hard to describe.

The opposite happened for me. Women smell amazing and I can't stand the scent of guys. I always had my suspicions if was bi or gay before hrt. But now I know for sure that I'm primarily attracted to women.
