Title: Q&A: Russell Reid inquiry
Post by: LostInTime on May 22, 2007, 06:17:58 AM

What is the inquiry about?

The UK's best-known expert on transsexualism, Russell Reid faces a General Medical Council disciplinary hearing into allegations that between October 1984 and August 2003 he breached standards of care by prescribing patients with sex-changing hormones and referring them for genital surgery without adequately assessing them. It is alleged some people later regretted changing sex.

A normal SOC compliant practice that doesn't have "people who regret", probably doesn't exist. But who goes after them... Nobody because hey, SOC is of the best ass protection there is. There is no foolproof way to determine who's a TS. Its the patient who tells you, or lies to you... Man, this is infuriating!

Its like everybody who got hormones or got operated through SOC were 100% TS; good for them that they have devellopped this super-duper foolproof system that knows more about the patient than the patient is himself telling to the therapist or to themselves!!!

Amen to that sistah-grrrrl.  >:(   This is why I hate the medical professionals.
I stay the hell away from them. They could care less about their patients these days.
All that they display affection for is their $$$. The SOC should be abolished IMNSHO.
It would force therapists to do an in depth study of each patient, which is what they are being paid for....instead of going down some check off list. It's absurd. We need to go to a fee and waiver system.
