Title: Does anyone know the half life of injectable Estradiol Valerate?
Post by: ChrisTinaBruce on February 17, 2013, 04:36:11 PM
I have been injecting  Estradiol Valerate once a week and after blood results last week I need ti raise my estrogen.  I am considering taking every 4 days to increase estrogen and development instead of increase the amount once a week.

Thanks,
Chris Tina

Hi, we don't allow the posting of dosages on the site. I believe you are asking if it is OK to split your dose?

What?  That is the purpose of a forum but to provide support and knowledge...

So you a we now censor knowledge?  So much for asking for equality from society, we cant even provide equality and freedom to ourselves.

We do provide support and knowledge,  but all posts must be made within our TOS. Here is a reminder of our site policy regarding HRT:

8. The discussion of hormone replacement therapy(HRT) and it's medications are permitted, with the following limitations:

A. You may not advocate for or against a specific medication or combinations of medication for personal gain. This is strictly prohibited.
B. You may not discuss the means to acquire HRT medications without a prescription. The discussion of self medication without a doctors supervision is prohibited.
C. The discussion of recommended or actual dosages is strongly discouraged to prevent information obtained on this site from being used to self medicate.

We can not in good conscience condone the self administering of these medications. Not only may self medication be illegal, but HRT medications can cause serious health problems, and many have the potential for life-threatening side effects that can only be detected and prevented with proper medical supervision.

I hope this clarifies the situatin. Hugs, Devlyn

I'm not recommending any dosages, but for the sake of discussion let's say a single injection gives you 1 units of estrogen. If you inject 4 times in a month, you will have 4 units averaged over the month. If you increase the injection frequency from once a week to once every 5 days, you will have increased your monthly total from 4 units to 6 units (30 days/month divided by 5 yields 6 injections) effectively giving you 1.5 times as many units per month.

This keeps the relative levels in your system more constant than if you injected more per injection while maintaining 4 injections per month. If you inject more per injection you will get an initial, exaggerated peak of serum estradiol followed by a tapering off as it is metabolized out of your system. The monthly average would be the same, but serum levels would have large peaks and valleys.

To my way of thinking, injecting more frequently is easier on your system (no exaggerated peaks of serum estradiol levels for a day or so following the injection) and easier to fine tune the most effective dosage than trying to split up vials of medication across multiple injections. You just add or subtract a day to your injection frequency, thereby increasing or decreasing serum levels while keeping them more consistent.

Of course, you should consult with your physician before making any dosage changes like this.

I always believed that by doing one shot you are allowing the receptors to be clean by the next shot.  So by doing incremental shots you might actually be gumming up the works so to say.  Maybe your body doesn't work that way but it was a thought I had.  I know naturally your body works in cycles.  So if you look at a chart or cycle the body peaks from estrogen then later progesterone.  Also your body sends out a signal of fsh and then lh once you get estrogen.  So by cycling you would ideally want to wait till your body is cycling and sending out  fsh then instead of your body producing testosterone you would give it a shot of estrogen.  (just my thought)

Either way we are missing other hormones that are often not talked about.  To me estrogen doesn't do as much as say reducing dht to nothing almost.

We don't offer dosages because those who have a temptation to self medicate rather than going through the correct channels may use that information and, in return, could inadvertently harm themselves.
