So I already vented about the latest series of incidents with my parents. She seems to be okay with a gender-neutral nickname, but in spite of all that's happened I realized something. The name Max belongs to me, even though it won't be on the papers until I'm 18. I'll consider it a self-given birthday present when that day comes.
Long story short, yes- call me Max.
Hi, Max. :-)

Hi Max, glad to hear you found your name! It really is a special feeling when you find that name that seems like it's really you, isn't it?
My parents insisted on a gender-neutral nickname at first and then they warmed up to the prospect of a male name. It helps if you have friends (online, offline, whichever) who call you your chosen name, otherwise the warm-up period might get very frustrating and annoying.
Hi Max! *waves* :)

Hi Max! Good choice!
Wiqomun Max!
Nice to formally meet you Max. Is that short for Maximillan or just Max?
Awesome new name, Max.

Hey to all of you, too! I've wanted this name for a while but had qualms recently since a certain someone read it while snooping through my text messages again and used it to mock me. But screw it, that's my name.

It's most likely going to be short for Maximilian or possibly Maxwell. Going to work everything out with it shortly, but I'm happy to have a name and not the hideous thing that's been passing for one. I've had people start calling me by a nickname, and they go, "But you have such a pretty name!" If you like it so much, you can have it! :P
You are saying they use a gender neutral nickname. So they are or aren't calling you Max? Max is gender neutral (Maxwell/Maxine).
Regardless, it is nice to see that you're making a little bit of progress with your parents. Eventually they will see the err of their ways.
No, it's a nickname I've had before this. I don't want to use the name Max until I can get it legally changed, especially because I don't really plan to stay in touch with my parents. Not calling me by my birthname is nice, but my mother is still saying I need to be locked up, which, well...isn't. Thanks, though. I hope they come to their senses someday, but I don't know that they will, and even so I have reason to leave. The upside is that being completely stealth will be easier that way.
Hi Max. That's a good name.
