I'm starting spiro in the next few weeks once blood work is back. I'm 42 and starting spiro without any E. I would like to start E at the same time but aren't in a position yet to have breast growth. So E will come by next year.
Any comments on what to expect on spiro only dor a year to start? Hoping for clearer skin (less oily), some help with MPB, libido reduction and reduction n muscle mass.
Thoughts?
Kay
Well if the only reason you aren't going to take E yet is because you are worried about breast growth, let me give you my take on it. So if you happen to be similar to me at all; from a family lineage with women that do not have gigantic breasts and I'm really skinny to start, so I don't have any fat around the breast area to start. I'm at 4.5 months and the breast growth that I have is barely noticeable only with my shirt off but with a shirt on, no one can tell. As for the changes spiro has, you definitely could experience the changes you listed as well as others possibly.
Yup, you are right, I definitely should have added that, but I didn't think of it!
This is why "Self Medication" is dangerous. It takes a doctor to monitor levels of hormones in your system. Doing these things on our own can lead to unexpected and unwanted effects.

That's probably why the op is waiting on blood work to come back first.
Working with an endo. No self medication with me. I'm too chicken! :-\

It's not your bravery we worry about, it's this:
8. The discussion of hormone replacement therapy(HRT) and it's medications are permitted, with the following limitations:
A. You may not advocate for or against a specific medication or combinations of medication for personal gain. This is strictly prohibited.
B. You may not discuss the means to acquire HRT medications without a prescription. The discussion of self medication without a doctors supervision is prohibited.
C. The discussion of recommended or actual dosages is strongly discouraged to prevent information obtained on this site from being used to self medicate.
We can not in good conscience condone the self administering of these medications. Not only may self medication be illegal, but HRT medications can cause serious health problems, and many have the potential for life-threatening side effects that can only be detected and prevented with proper medical supervision.
Agree! That's why I am working with an endocrinologist. She has told me what I might expect. I was looking for y'all experience from HRT.
