Title: My testosterone comes in syringes
Post by: harlee on February 25, 2013, 03:00:35 AM
I've never heard anyone talk about this before, but the testosterone I buy comes in already filled syringes. Is this weird? I get 3 syringes filled with T for $15 and Im doing my shots every 2 weeks. I guess its kind of a waste of money since I dont get given the full amount thats in the syringe and then the nurse just throws the rest away. Im pretty sure Im on a very low dose, its been 3 weeks and I have noticed nothing ::) But yeah, has anyone else heard of getting testosterone like this?

Getting a syringe filled with T seems...not quite right. I've actually never heard of a scenario like that since that means you're getting syringes that have been used in some way and might not be sterile.

Almost sounds like the pharmacy doesn't trust you to use it as prescribed. I can't think of any reason otherwise for a prefilled syringe since they aren't manufactured that way

Are the syringes still wrapped in plastic when you get them?

Its probably a lot cleaner than the way you guys do it.

even the needle itself has a hard plastic cap you have to snap off to get to it.

Injectable insulin has been coming on pre-filled pens for years.  Different type of screw on needle, though.

I also am on the Primoteston pre-filled syringes.  I take the whole injection although my first was only half.

Hey I'm an American, and I don't think this is too odd. Might add to your expense, but then if you are in Aus or the UK maybe you aren't paying it. Saves you a step.

true, unit dosage is getting more popular in US hospitals even though it's more packaging than a bulk container or vial because of ease of use.

I pay $5.80 every six weeks for mine, I don't know what it would be without concession though. :/
