I'm curious to see if any correlation exists. if you're interested, please just try and estimate how quickly you became "passable" or obviously effeminate and whether or not your metabolism is above or below average. I think this could help a lot of people set more realistic timeframes... IF there is any correlation that is.
Above average metabolism - I was first ma'amed 5 months in, I started being hard for people to gender around 8 months, and at about 11 or 12 months in I was passing pretty easily.
I'd say above average metabolism, I don't really know when I started passing it just sort of happened around month 6-7 of HRT. I'm currently 7-8months in (I can't remember how long, but it's around that time.) and as far as I can tell I'm passing 100% to people who haven't known me before, even close up and talking to them for extended periods of time.
Should be noted that I'm young and in my mid twenties.
I have a pretty slow metabolism, always put weight on extremely easily even if active. I was getting misgendered at about 8-9 months and I went full time at 12 and seem to pass easily and now at 15 months I pretty confident I'm passing all the time.
hm, so far it seems like it is indeed having a fair effect, or a classic case of correlation does not imply causation.
I look forward to more data pouring in.
I have hypothyroidism, so, I have an extremely high metabolism. It is high enough that I am not allowed to work out, and I have to eat a lot of food otherwise I will become way too skinny. Because of that, my hormone levels are still not where they are supposed to be. My face has barely changed, so I am still obviously trans. However, I did start developing breasts within the first couple of weeks.
Low metabolism; got ma'amed just a few days ago, in boy mode, in broad daylight. So, 1.7 months in.
No idea if it means anything, though, as I'm a bit mixed anyway.

Mixed? I'm not sure I follow your meaning.

Less obviously male to start with.
Ohh. Yeah that probably would have a profound result in the whole mix.
