Ever since I got them, I haven't been passing well, and for the longest time I thought it was my haircut. But For the past week I've been wearing contacts and passed 100% of the time. They're not feminine glasses, but I guess they must emphasize something in my face that I can't see :/ *shrug* They're just some regular rectangular glasses...
If only my face wasn't too small for most frames. :c
can we see a picture with and without glasses?
That's my problem too. The glasses aren't feminine at all but on my face... My face was too small pre-T, I had to choose from the kid's glasses :-X now I can't put on without worrying to brake it. I guess it's time for me too.
I'm getting a new pair next week... Hopefully they make me look more masculine and don't hinder my passing! Good luck Dean!
my glasses are very rectangular mens raybands plastic frames.
Same problem here. A coworker explained it to me like this: "You see Clark Kent and you just subconsciously think, 'Oh, guy with glasses, harmless.' But you see superman and he's all, rarwgh! And no glasses. It isn't necessarily the shape of them, but something about just wearing glasses makes some men appear weaker/harmless, and weaker usually translates into feminine on some level. And that accentuates the rest of the fem in your face." I thought it sounded pretty logical. Well, minus the 'rarwgh' part >.<
I agree with Biscuit_Stix. The only time I really have any issues at all with passing is when I'm wearing regular glasses. I even passed when I used to have 10 inch+ hair as long as I didn't wear them. It's kinda interesting now that I think about it...
I think plastic might work better than wire for passing. It seems to be that way for a lot of people.
