Title: fun on the phone
Post by: Lawreign on March 19, 2013, 04:51:49 PM
Here in Australia as I imagine most with a land line get calls from all quarters, I realised the mr they were asking for sounded like the little lady of the house, on some occasions. So I decided instead of get frustrated that my personal space had been invaded, that I would refine my vocal expression and play ring a round the rosy with the sales person's hearing......it is important to be yourself ! it is the voice u are working with not screwing with the person that is listening...... But Do Explore.

Messing about with telemarketers can be great fun kinda like a reverse prank phone call where they call you to sell you something and you prank them

It's a ton of fun. Is "Ms. ---- there?" "No."

If my wife answers a charitable fund raisers phone call, she asks the person to please send her an audited financial statement and will then consider making a donation. Stops them in their tracks, quickly terminates the call.

Here in the UK there is a preference scheme so we don't get many from UK companies.

But we do tend to get a lot from Asia, trying to tell us we can claim this or that. The problem for them is the generally can't speak English very well.#

Then there is the dead call, where the computer has dialed several numbers but the manpower wasn't available to answer all of them.

Our greatest friend is our answer phone. If someone identifies themselves as we want to speak, we answer.
