This short article describes the results found in a study done by the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network. GLSEN found "that 81% of LGBT students had been verbally harassed based on their sexual orientation, while 29% had experienced some form of physical harassment".

-----------
I knew there was a lot of harassment towards LGBT students, but I have to say, I was surprised by how high the physical harassment numbers were. I hope our youngsters on the board stay safe.

The statistics presented in the article are very disheartening.  Especially the physical violence.  Words can hurt as well.
