Title: Has any one tried the new permanent hair removal creme called Vaniqa?
Post by: FrancisAnn on March 27, 2013, 01:43:47 AM
It requires a physicians perscription & is obviously intended for women however it sure seems worth trying.
My partial light colored "beard" is just terrible. I've had some electrolsis & some laser treatments however this stubborn facial hair will make any one cry almost.

Thanks for any advise. I'm going to try it soon.

I have just checked it out

http://www.vaniqa.com/faq (http://www.vaniqa.com/faq)

It is reported to reduce hair growth but has to be used in association with hair removal techniques. So in itself it is not a hair removal method, it is a growth inhibitor of some kind.

Vaniqa is (as Cindy said) a growth inhibitor and is NOT permanent - when you quit taking it your hair will return.  The documents with Vaniqa says it works on 50% of the users.  I tried it a couple of years ago and it didn't work for me.  Someone on one of the forums reported success with it so you would just have to try it to see if you are one of the lucky 50%.  Also it isn't cheap.

I decided to try it again recently and have been using it twice a day for 6 weeks now but no reduction in growth.  I'm not in the good 50%.

Good luck

Lori,

Thank you for your experience & advise on this drug. Unfortunately it sounds like most other hair removal systems. Sad news for all of us girls.

Please have a great day anyway,

Francis
