Super excited - I am scheduled for my full hysto on June 14th!!!! It can't come soon enough! I am going to have a davinci hysto - recovery time is 1-2 weeks - thank heavens! My partner is a nurse who works with the doctor preformung the surgery & she said barring any complications she will release me to my wife and not make me stay overnight
Great news!!!! Congrats!!!!
Congrats! I was early in transition and not really out. They stuck me on the maternity ward overnight, but I did get them to call me Jay without outing myself (obviously they assumed I was F because of what surgery I had). I was so loopy from pain meds I don't remember much. That surgery had more impact positively on my life. Knowing that junk was GONE was huge.
Good luck with recovery.
Jay
I hope I get put on the maternity ward cause my wife is a nurse manager on that ward. There is a is possibility I won't have to stay overnight - my doc might release to my wife - they have worked together for years
I'm happy for you. I had mine last December and it was an open surgery. I was up and walking the halls four hours later. Laparoscopic surgery is going to be a breeze. Just be careful standing straight up quickly, it'll burn for a few days.
No worries, you're going to do great! You'll be so happy a few weeks after. No more possibility of shark week and no pain down there.
I will say to MAKE SURE they are also removing the cervix. Some surgeons do and some don't. If it is removed you NEVER have to see a Gyno again. It's sooooo great. ;D
Oh she is removing it all - she is one of the top trans dr in the city - she runs a trans clinic at the hospital - she is all over it
Then it's "No Prob Bob" for you.
One other thing I always advise people to have in the fridge is either Boost or Ensure drinks. Sometimes surgery or pain meds can make you puny. Those drinks are filling, good for you, and will give you energy.
Let everyone know how it goes. :)
This is great news. I am envious...
Nice one-good to hear. Hope it all goes well for you
