Yep, we're spreading freedom and liberty alright...
Ugh.
The phenomenon will only worsen, secondary to numerous irreversible factors.
Hey... what do we expect?
We take the kids who are willing to volunteer. Many have no education. We give them a few weeks training to kill and real guns. Then we ship them over there to "keep the peace".
Not a good idea.

*cringes a bit at this description of the military*
I would be the last to wave the support our troops flag and defend this individual. His actions are inexcusable and a disgrace to his country and the service. However there are lot good people in the military and the majority are still at least high school educated. Enlisted Army basic training is 9 weeks.
There are plenty of bad apples in the military and this misguided war is increasing the number. But lets not let individuals like this turn us against our men and women in the service as a whole.
Aye. My younger brother (recently turned 21) just mobilized. He'll be in Iraq by late June/early July. He's a good kid, but he likes to play around. I doubt he'd do something like this, though.
This just makes me sick, really. I mean maybe the guy was just playing around. But that doesn't excuse the fact that this kid is gonna go around making a fool of himself. What if he ends up taking actual english lessons? What will he do when he realizes he humiliated himself in front of US soldiers for their entertainment? This isn't the way to win the hearts of the people we're trying to help.
I'm pretty sure if my brother was there, he'd have butted the guy in the back of the head with his M4.
