I've started getting more physically active lately and need some suggestions. I have never bought a "proper" binder in all my years of binding. I've always used neoprene waist trimmers because they're cheap, can be washed/dried easily, and aren't so tight they restrict breathing.
Hopefully this is my last year of binding but in the meantime I want to enjoy this Summer. I'm just sick of being a recluse due to the fear that someone may pick up on the fact that there is something over my chest. I need a couple of binders that won't look completely unnatural when I go swimming at the lake and because I want to start going for a jog in the morning.
Something midriff is preferred but will consider all options. Are there any guys here who are physically active outdoors? If so what binders do you use/recommend?
I did a 90 min trail run this morning wearing the love boat high performance velcro binder (with a sports bra underneath for sweat wicking). It's not ideal, but for me it's better than looking like a skinny male runner with boobs. If you are good at 'belly breathing' while you're exercising, a short binder shouldn't restrict your breathing much (my experience anyway).
I have two binders from underworks (one is the tri top and the other is the one that's like a regular undershirt but with a binder underneath... forget the numbers) that seem a little big for me, but they're great for physical activity (screw sports bras!). I can breath really easily and they hold everything in place.
I've worked out in a tri-top and it's been fine. Part of it is proper fitting too. If you're wearing a binder that is a proper size (not a size too small) you should be ok. Binding is supposed to restrict to flatten you to some degree.
Alright, thanks guys. Think I'll order a Tri-Top and the 988.
Tried working out (indoors) today wearing a tights sports bra instead of binding and my God the dysphoria got me as soon as I did a jumping jack. >:(
...one more year of this.
