Nope.
I've done it, it is strange not being able to breath normally but looking good.
But no longer, it hurts too much.
It does work, over time your waist will become smaller.

Wasn't it some cartoon horse - I can see him clear as a bell but can't recall the name - wore a bandana around his neck and had a little burro or something as a sidekick?
