Title: Electrolytes and Spiro
Post by: Keira on May 10, 2013, 12:05:58 PM
The pharmacist told me that I should be taking electrolyte supplements regularly with my spiro...but if Spironolactone makes you hold in potassium...is it actually safe to take electrolyte supplements?

Or could it potentially cause hyperkalemia?

If you're worried about electrolyte balance, just add some sea salt to food since sodium balance will be more off than potassium (which should avoid artificial sources). And of course take in more fluids because of diuretic effect.
