So, for the first time ever, I bought a tank top. I saw one at Marshalls and decided to buy it. However, there's one slight problem... The arm holes are so long, and you can see part of my binder. It's in this (http://s3.amazonaws.com/www.dealdey.com/system/deals/images/8670/original/D_-_Productimage-male_shirts_0017_DSC_6646.jpg?1361277777) kind of style, if anyone is curious.
I was just wondering, is there anything I can do? It doesn't show anywhere else and it doesn't show a lot, just where the stupid arm holes are. I'm pretty sure even using a strapless binder would be pointless, because it's still going to show. I guess I could save it until next summer, but any tips on wearing tank tops while dealing with binders would be awesome.
Maybe this isn't a great tip, but I say just rock it. It's too hot for me to give a darn what anyone thinks. I'm wearing one right now, and my binder's showing. I've been told it just looks like I'm layering tank tops, so maybe you can pull that off. The people who know your situation will obviously know, but how is anyone else supposed to?
It's not necessarily that I'm worried I won't pass. That's not an issue, it's more of me being concerned that people will think it looks dumb or weird.
I might do that, though. It depends on how hot it gets and how apathetic I am, lmao.
Funny thing about this. I have been wearing long sleeve shirts to work as it is pretty cool in the mornings. But by afternoon it can really heat up. I am not exactly wearing a tank top. But I unbutton the first few buttons and show a bit of my tank (I wear a binder and a muscle t over it sometimes). I think it looks pretty male, but I have noticed that if you were looking closely you'd see I had two tank tops on?

I know that feeling all too well. I go to the beach like once every three years and I just crave to feel the sun on my back but the closest I come to that is wearing a tank top. 95% of tank tops I have found have the large arm holes though I am small enough to wear boys L and XL which tend to have smaller holes. Its very frustrating though looking for tank tops with small arm holes in the mens department because they are all athletic fit.
Even if it shows, people would think that it is just an under shirt. Though I know how frustrating it is when it does show because before I came out I would wear sports bras so now I always associate in the back of my mind that anything showing means bras which is not always the case. The most important thing is if you want to wear a tank top and wether or not you are comfortable wearing if regardless. How gives a darn in the end is just you. Try not to over analyze like I do, it is quite a burden.
Depending on the length of the shirt, you could try altering it. If it's a little big in the chest, you can sew the armpit home smaller by taking it in at the seam that goes in your pit. If the shirt is also cut low enough and is long you could cut the seam that sits on top of the shoulder and shorten that, which would bring the whole shirt up. Do a combination of both if you want something that would look a bit neater.
what if you put like a tight tank under it..like a white a shirt or something that will cover the binder

I have quite a few of these and they are awesome. The armholes seem smaller than usual. I wear a black one with a black tritop and it doesn't really show.
