Hello all. I'm trying to work through a few gender issues, with the first step being trying to figure out whether they are in fact gender issues at all or something else. A first step in a very long journey - not one that I'm particularly looking forward to, but I'm not sure I have much of a choice! I wish life was simple.

I struggled with transition. my partner's hostile reactions forced me to put "teri" back into the closet to please her and save our marriage. this isn't working. maybe I will gather up the courage to explain in detail.

teri, that's the one thing I'm most worried about - the hostile reaction of my spouse. Odd how the closest people, those who know us the best, are those we're sometimes most frightened of in this process.

Welcome E-Brennan. In the long run, relationships that are based on open and honest communication have the greatest chance of surviving the stresses of a transgendered spouse.
Welcome to the community and I hope everything works out. I understand being confused. I too am working through my own confusion. Just know that you are not alone and that there are people like you.

i agree with what Bookworm said... you are not alone, there are people like you and you are loved and welcomed here for who you are
i too am confused and struggling through it (i think that is step one for every girl here...maybe)
i was up front and honest with my partner from the day my confusion began to consume me and become too much for me to cram back in the proverbial closet.
she (my partner) has been understanding and loving, but also confused and angry. it surprises me that who i am and how i see myself affects those closest.
at the end of the day, we gotta do what needs to be done to make us happy :)
