Oh Honey,

I'm so sorry. Be strong.

Take them out, you have the law on your side and you are obviously a strong and proud woman. Oh take on a Scottish Woman will they; Geex, be strong.

Take them, you have the Newspaper on your side, you have the law on your side, you have the workplace.

You have been humiliated and it only gets stronger from there. Sorry - they tried to humiliate you. We don't accept that trash from anyone. Time to turn the tables.

My Love and my strength to you

Hold in there my sister

Aww :( Hugs!

What a painful ordeal. I don't know what I'd do if somebody stopped me from using the women's washroom. I say use the disabled washrooms from now on, I still feel more comfortable using them than the women's washrooms. Wish they had them in all establishments!

Kyh my sister,

The disabled toilets are for the disabled. My wife is disabled, I get annoyed when I take her to the toilet and they are occupied by people who are not disabled.

You are a woman. You use the female toilet.

It's pretty simple really - Oh and I love you :-*

Hugs

Outrageous.

This in particular gets me really steamed:

Quote"He proceeded to inform me that I was only to use either the men's or disabled toilets unless I was post-operative."

Basically, if you're young enough, healthy enough, and rich enough for SRS, well you can transition. Otherwise, you're stuck living as your birth sex.

And, of course, those lucky enough to pass perfectly get hassled far less often.

Rules like these have the effect of splitting our community, pitting some of us against the rest.

LostFlower, I hope you go after them with all you have.

What also gets me is that some of us are non-op or between pre op and non op (like me). Why should having male genitalia still make us "male"? Because that's basically what was implied from the article.

Besides the point that no one has any say about if I happen to have a penis or a vagina or something else entirely different. It's a bathroom, not a locker room...yeeesh

I'm still waiting for the transgender rights bill to go through here in Canada...otherwise I'll have to avoid public bathrooms when I go full time/start looking too feminine. :(

In Australia there is laws against that. The only way really to avoid predjudice completely is to be very passable to passable. Technically you can only pass or not pass but I think more "passable" gets acceptance from real women. Human's are very visual people imo.

Did you do anything lewd or untoward in the toilet?

Even if you mess or stink the place up could be a problem.

Also many women make the tedious descision of living a "dob-artist" lifestyle, though those usually gravitate to the extreme left.

I think there is in the UK. It might be an idea to write to them and get their official position.

Oh dear..

Quote"This was useless as he said words to the effect that I was causing problems for everyone and that the majority was more important than just me.

He's wrong and coming up for a thousand years out of date. Back in the early Middle Ages they came up with this novel concept called the law which applies to everyone.

They are wrong on two counts of discrimination under the Equality Act 2010.

It's also unlawful for the security guard to address you inappropriate to your gender.

Did the security guard physically stop you from entering the toilet or use a threat of force or intimidation? If so you might consider reporting the incident to the police and letting them investigate it. Please consider that you can report an assault even if there was no physical contact made. It's enough that you were made to believe that physical contact was about to happen. It's still assault.

I would also write to your local MP and councillors. The fact that it's been in the local paper will make it all the more attractive for them to take some form of action.

It was in pink news the national gay news paper turned website too.  I had read about it already.

Best way to deal with these derp heads is to call them out and shame them publicly. You did the right thing going to the press

I would not only shame them to the full extent, but see what you can do about having a monetary reimbursement for the emotional hardship and the court costs. If the are going to act like that then the deserve whatever they can have thrown at them.

I'm so sorry to hear this.  As I'm in the UK too all I can say is the law is on our side and take them for everything.  This is clearly a case of discrimination and the center manager was clearly in breach.  I admire your courage and look forward to hearing you win.
