Copenhagen, Denmark — New data from a large gender-identity unit have shown that hormone therapy taken by transsexuals is associated with a higher cardiovascular mortality rate among transsexual women (male to female [M2F]) but not men (female to male [F2M]). Both, however, had a higher incidence of type 2 diabetes than the general population.

The diabetes Type 2 is quite well known as is liver disease and gall bladder problems. They have been linked to obesity in trans* people which is probably a side effect of depression throughout life.

That's ok with me, I'd rather die from a heart attack or something similar than the cancer that seems to run in my family.

I had diabetes long before I took any hormones.
