Title: Hello from sweet home Chicago ^_^
Post by: SarahLJP on May 19, 2013, 05:51:36 PM
I'm doing this a little late. I've already been quite active since last week. I created my account in November of last year and just got around to voicing myself.

So, I'm Sarah, as my username suggests. I just turned 31 in April. I consider myself a straight woman of the trans variety. I started full HRT in October of last year. I've pretty much gone full-time since my birthday. I still occasionally wear my male clothes, but I usually still pass. I used to worry about what even strangers thought about me. Taking the huge step of going full-time has greatly boosted my self-confidence. I know who I am and what I want out of life now. I'm a virgin and want my first time with a man to be after I have SRS. Eventually I want to get married and maybe have children. I see myself living on the east coast in the future. I do still need help and support and want to feel a connection to our community. I would like to personally meet others in my area and in my age range. I don't have any friends close or other wise right now. Thanks for reading this. I'm not sure if I did a good enough job at introducing myself.

Welcome from the western burbs.  I think overall you'll find support here to help you along your journey.

I actually grew up in the far western suburbs. St. Charles to be specific.

Sarah, it is very nice to meet you and read your introduction.  Don't feel bad about the delay in posting it.  I did not get around to an introduction for about 125 posts!

For our "new" members, please be sure to review:

Since you have been here a while, you probably already know most of this stuff.

You know, you will make friends here, and maybe find a few in your area.  But many of us, who out out of major metropolitan areas, tend to be somewhat isolated.   I know of just three trangendered people in my county, though statistically, there should be a couple thousand.  It is finding others that is hard.

Hi Sarah, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 11302. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. (https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsmileys.on-my-web.com%2Frepository%2FAnimals%2Fferret-3.gif&hash=f49e2f86761323f2abd9c33941920389dbb3b10f)

Is it more dangerous to live as a man in Chicago or as a transgender woman?

I'm not sure. I haven't had any problems since I moved here in 2008. I take quite few walks around my neighborhood with zero incidences. It's also in the process of gentrifying.
