Title: Feminine Resonance
Post by: misschievous on May 28, 2013, 02:00:43 PM
Ok so something weird happened today and not sure how to take it..... After thinking about it a bit, this isn't the first time it happened........

First of all I have not taken any voice training yet, or surgery. I have not started HRT or even therapy.
So I was on the phone with someone to buy a new car and I was just talking in a normal voice and before he hung up he said "Thank you Ma'am"

Could I naturally have a female resonance? I am sure my pitch isn't there but is a little higher when I am excited about something. This is same make and model of my first car. It was my baby.

It kinda struck me weird and I was speechless.

It's possible :)

You could also post a clip of you speaking in the Does My Voice Pass thread and get some opinions on it. ^_^

Possibly.  I hope that's the case for you.

Oddly enough, even though I wouldn't say my natural voice is feminine, I've been mam'ed on the phone quite a few times.  It's always exciting and jarring because my natural voice doesn't really pass. I guess sometimes when we are in our own zone and talking to strangers we may put off more  of a feminine presence.  Like we aren't afraid of being judged and just let ourselves go a bit. So, maybe people pick up on things, including voices, when we are more relaxed.

Awesome to hear about the new car!

I never really thought of it that way, LTL, Thanks :)
