Im very hairy unfortunately and I cant afford laser treatment right now. so iv'e been thinking about getting full body waxes for now, they say it takes 4 weeks for your hair to grow back then you need another session. Have any of you ladies tried waxing? How did it work out for you? Just want to hear some of your personal experiences and how you liked it.
It's sounds painful plus it's kinda pricey have you considered just biting the bullet and just shaving so you can save the money for laser. You're quite young too so the HRT should impede hair growth. When I was 18 I used to rip the hairs out of my face. I don't mean pluck. I would rip them out hoping they wouldn't grow back. I couldn't do that now. I can't wait to get laser. You can't see the beard shadow in daylight but in the harsh flourescent lighting of stores it is noticable and I get sir'd because of it since there is no way it could be considered PCOS.
Waxing is a bit painful but combined with HRT it gets rid of body hair,I was a bear but after 2 years HRT and 4 waxes it virtually vanished.
Yea iv'e heard it hurts really bad but i'm going to try this numbing wax treatment a certain wax certain, hope it really works! :p
Before I went on Spiro I use to get my back waxed. It didn't hurt very much at all.
Laser on the face was painful but laser on my chest and tummy didn't hurt at all.

Really? I'm worried it will hurt. I have nipple hair, too, which I'm absolutely terrified to wax or laser.

My nipples have always been very sensitive, my major erogenous zone, and I was worried about laser. It was fine, they used a different size head for the laser for the body so it wasn't as intensely focussed as for the face. It also sucked the flesh into the laser head, which I'm ashamed to say, felt pretty damn good on certain parts ::)

I also was thinking about buying an epilator have any of you girls used one before? It hurts really bad, its a little machine that just pulls the hair the hair right off. But im such a baby :D

I use it on my legs, and with a different attachment under my armpits and on my chest (including nipple area). I can recommend getting one that can be used both dry and wet (i.e. IN the shower), as wet + shower gel = a lot less pain for the first clear up. You will want to get into a routine after that. The pain will usually be a lot lower in subsequent sessions, both because you get used to it, as well as the fact that you will never really have quite as much hair as during the initial session (differing growth rates and all that).
That sounds like torture for the first few times. Esp. for hairy beasts... Scared.
Yeah the first few times around are pretty crazy. It's amazing how having the right attitude about the pain goes so far ;) Same for laser!
Lately I've been playing little mind games when I get laser sessions. The time before last, I was imagining like he was just "scanning" the hair on my face with a bright light. And who doesn't like to scan stuff? Scanning is a wonderful technology and so helpful :P
Then this past time I started alternating bending my toes as if I was walking or something... because with laser there is a rhythm to it.. zzt...zzt...zzt...zzt... etc. So I was just imagining that I was walking through a really nice park and it was sunny outside with birds chirping. It was great!
My doctor who does the laser said "well, determination is not something you are short of". I gave him the thumbs up (because I cannot currently use my voice). He laughed and kept zapping my upper lip as the mascara filled tears streamed down the sides of my face.
In the end, it's totally worth it. Be gone, hairs!! Except for the ones on my scalp. You can stay.
First was worst with the epilator. Wasn't near as bad after. Not that I jump at a chance to use it now. But it does work and is less messy than wax.
I have had laser on my chest/tummy, arms and face and the face was painfully, but the result is worth it.
I have never actually waxed, I shave my legs and pits with shaving cream and a razor.
