Hi there!
New to posting but definitely not new to visiting. Been coming here for a while to check things out and get more info. It's been incredibly helpful.
I'm 27 years old and from Australia. Disabled, unemployed, and looking for other people to talk to.
Like a lot of us here, I knew something wasn't right way back when. Wasn't until I was a teenager that I realised there were other people like me out there and options to become the man I wanted to be.
I thought I had come to a point where I was at least somewhat happy with my body or could at least live with it in the long run but recently I've realised that's just not true. I've got some pretty serious life/death surgery coming up and it's kind of made me reevaluate my life and what I'm doing and I realised I'll never be happy stuck like this and I should at least try to get to a place where I'm reasonably happy with myself.
So I'm back on course, seeing a therapist, and looking towards surgery, but what I really want is some other people to talk to. I'm almost 100% isolated socially and no man wants to be an island, right? No reason to be alone!
There is absolutely no reason to be alone!
I'm in Adelaide and there are many trans* people on this site from all parts of Australia, and there are active clubs for trans* people all over the place in Australia. We have good acceptance in the general community and we have strong laws to protect us, so never be afraid!!!
When you feel comfy open up and no doubt the Aussie boys and girls will be along to greet you.
Hugs
Cindy

Welcome, NoAlternative, it's very nice to meet you!
No one should ever have to settle when it comes to their happiness in life and it's good to hear that you're taking the steps you feel you need to take so that you can be happier! It definitely helps to reach out to other people that can relate to what you're going through, as well. I recently joined Susan's myself and, as I don't have any friends that can relate to what I'm going through in real life, I've been really enjoying observing and joining in discussions with people similar to myself in that regard. I hope you'll find the support and camaraderie you're looking for here, as well!
NoAlternative - welcome from southern California.
I wish you the very best in your upcoming surgeries. As a person who has lived through three heart surgeries, and had their chest cracked open, I completely understand what you are feeling, as you face the unknown.
When you get 15 or more posts, new aspects of the site will open to you, including using the personal messaging utility. Keep us updated on your progress. I look forward to chatting with you.
Hi NoAlternative, welcome to Susan's Place! I live near Boston. We need to get you a better name! See you around the site, hugs, Devlyn
Cheers, everyone! Means a lot to get a warm welcome to a new place.
Hi NoAlternative!
Another Adelaide girl wandering past to give you a warm welcome. :)
Hugs,
