I was going to post this on my old thread but I could not find it. someone posted on it and showed me a web page that gave me an idea so I come up with a home remedy for it. It works, I have wore it to work and it stayed on for the whole day.
I bought a roll of clear latex surgical tape and an elastic cord. took one piece( 2 inches long) and tore it about a quarter of an inch and folded it to make a point and poked the cord through a hole I made in it. I placed the piece of tape just under jawbone where the cheek muscle meets. make sure the short end of the cord is hanging out and the longer end is hanging toward the neck. pull the longer side around the back of the neck and let it hang over your shoulder. Make another piece of tap the same way poke the cord through the hole make sure the sticky side is facing in. place the tape on the opposite side of the face, take the 2 ends and slowly pull the cords back and tie as if tying a shoe. It took me a few trys before I figured it out so if it don't work just keep trying until it does. ;D
I have wore it off and on for about 2 weeks and I like it and it seems other do too.
Just FYI.... stretching your skin out like that is going to create lines elsewhere...
Age lines (smile lines in your case) just happen with age. Only way to prevent / remedy it is botox or plastic surgery (which is pretty much stretching your skin, which will cause other aging issues later).
Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Try googling "face yoga" for some facial muscle exercises as well. Hugs, Devlyn

Smoking is one of the worst environmental factors (aside from being out in the sun) for your skin. I cannot imagine what all of those chemicals do to our endocrine system either! It's probably very bad for development....

Well there hasn't been any studies on smoking and MTF HRT but there have been studies on exogenous estrogen levels and genetic girls who need it for medical reasons and at about 20 cigarettes a day their levels drop precipitously. I can only imagine it is much less with us. I would say if you have to smoke try not to make it a habit lol
I'm sure it's not just levels, but cellular reproduction and receptor damage that you have to worry about with smoking.
Smoking actively causes vasoconstriction and vascular damage to a persons face. By itself it might not be so bad but combined with diabeties, end stage renal disease, or high blood pressure and you've got a problem. However all those items seem to help the other problem occur.
If you want to correct the lines I'd suggest seeing a dermatologist or plastic surgeon. The tape will only destroy what elastin fibers you have left there.
I wish mine would come with age. I've had these lines since, eh... Since I was 20, I think. I got a healthy weight, and then they appeared. Not many people get smile wrinkles before having anything around the eyes, eyebrows or forehead. >_>
What are these lines next to mouth? I don't think I have them.

When they start showing up with even the slightest of smiles or, worse, are apparerent even on a neutral face, you start having "smile lines".
