"It falls like all immoral bills under the umbrella of 'Anti-Discrimination' laws. This puts our children, especially girls and women in direct harm's way of Predators, Pedophiles and Perverts – now backed up by the State of Delaware!"
Known by some as the "bathroom bill" and others as the "Gender Identity Nondiscrimination Act," SB 97 passed the Delaware Senate and is headed to the House of Representatives.
The bill would add "gender identity" to the list of groups protected from discrimination in public accommodations. According to the Section 1 Amend § 4501, Title 6 of the Delaware Code, the list presently includes race, creed, age, marital status, sex, color, sexual orientation, handicap, and national origin.
Equality Delaware, an LGBT rights organization, heralded the state Senate's passage of SB 97 as a "victory" and has called on supporters to encourage the House to follow suit.
I hope that this bill passes though, considering that I consider myself a decent Christian woman who has a history of transsexualism!
I hope it passes as well, maybe then the NY State Senate will actually do something.
Gah! Why did I read the comments? The heated debate between the inter-sexed individual and the professed Christian was interesting, but all the statements about how anybody that didn't hold their views was a Satan worshiper, I could have done without.
I'm a Christian who happens to be transgender. I love God with all my heart. I love my wife, son, his gf and my beautiful little granddaughter. She accepts me as I am.

Alyssa tied that person up in knots; well done
It is sad that we can master sending men to the moon but as a community we are still arguing about where a segment of the population can take care of a basic biological need that is as old as mankind.
It is a sad fact that most Christians don't live a Christ-like life. Including the pastor who was quoted in the article, and most of his supporters in the article comments.
Lets the record speak for itself...see below...disgusting!

I am so glad that your life has been a blessing thus far! :) Congrats!
These "Christians" disgust and disturb me.Going to church doesn't make you a Christian anymore than going to the garage will make you a mechanic. There are many false prophets the Bible warned us about, these are the wolves disguised as sheep. If you hear God or Jesus telling you to kill or hurt people you should be in a loony bin not a church
100% Proud Shi'ite Muslim where decades ago my faith and leaders embraced me and all transsexuals and not shunned!

Every time society takes another step in the right direction these people go in a state of panic, nothing to see here.
I thought we were already protected against this? So are we not aloud to legally use public restrooms?

Yes and no. Yes, there isn't a law that says it's illegal to do so. However, no, that doesn't mean the wrong police officer couldn't cite or arrest you for something like disturbing the peace. I've seen at least a few stories this year alone of transwomen being ticketed for using the woman's restroom on such trumped-up charges. Laws like this help to prevent that and prevent future legislation by bigots to ban transfolk from using the gender specific restroom they identify with.
Reading the article and comments I think the bigger issue is who is allowed to freely enter a church, not who is freely allowed to enter a bathroom.
Also, a business can kick out or restrict someone from using a bathroom if that person isn't legally protected. So could a school, courthouse, worksite, etc. Of course they can kick them out completely also.
It's okay for me if I'm a business owner to kick out everyone with red hair or prohibit them from entering my business.
It's not okay to do the same if they are black or are Christian, in most places, due to legal protections.
