The Social Security Administration no longer requires surgery to change the gender marker.

They didn't require surgery when I went there in February of this year. I just showed them the court order that explicitly stated my gender had been legally changed and the SSA updated my record accordingly.

So, that is one benefit from Obama administration?
Anyway, it is a great leap in the rights of transgender people, not just in the US.
