The usual names leave a lot of people feeling awkward, but you're a great parent, pat yourself on the back! Hugs, Devlyn

achm sorry* but I would never pat myself on the back for being "
politically correct". I'm sure if some had their way we'd make do without the occasion entirely !!
Check this "Father's Day" diatribe out!!!
( dysgusting )
Quote from: huffingtonpost.co.uk/louise-pennington/fathers-day-waste-of-time_b_3426832.htmlFather's Day is the annual celebration of men's fertility. It is not a celebration of "good fathers" but, rather, any man who contributes sperm to create a child.
Welcome to the thread, although it seems you may have missed the point. Hugs, Devlyn

Hugs Accepted !! ;) Actually kids are the best, nicest way of letting people know your "trans",
When someone who just called me "ma'am" overhears my kids (lol it's usually my son on purpose) say "
hey dad that person just . . . "" we both 100% enjoy the embarrassment that OP usually experience instead!!!!
The
'words out of babes"!

It's my kids that feel the most awkward about this. They were wondering if I was still OK with them wishing me a happy "Father's " day. I replied it that it was no problem, that no matter what today's reality, yesterday's reality was just as true and just as much a part of our common history.
I prefer they don't call me "Dad" in public but I will always be their Dad, even if a "Dad with a Difference". :)
Hugs
