Title: NYS GENDA: Still slight hope this session Your action needed, Like NOW!! Ta DAY!

COPY PASTE from Mallory.

Hi Everyone,

I just received this email from Assemblymen Gottfried, our champion in the NYS Assembly on GENDA.  The Senate is STILL in session as I type this.  Assemblymen Gottfried is asking us to send emails to Senator Klein, Senator Skelos and the Governor to urge them not to close this final session of the Senate without passing GENDA.

Please send an email to each of the addresses linked below.  This is essentially our last gasp attempt to get GENDA passed.  Please don't let this chance pass us by without trying everything we can right up until the end.

They managed to pass the women's rights bill, its our turn.

Mallory

Dear GENDA Supporters:

Tell the Senate not to adjourn before passing GENDA!

The Assembly has already passed the bill and now we need the Senate to pass it.

Here's how you can help:

Call or email Senator Jeffrey Klein: 518-455-3595, jdklein@senate.state.ny.us and Senator Dean Skelos: (518) 455-3171, skelos@nysenate.gov and tell them you want GENDA to get a vote in the NYS Senate.

Call or email Governor Andrew Cuomo: (518) 474-8390, and tell him you want him to push the Senate to bring the bill to a vote and sign it.

Nathan Schafer, the Executive Director of the Empire State Pride Agenda (ESPA), and I have published an op-ed in the Huffington Post about the importance of passing GENDA (Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act).   Senator Daniel Squadron is the sponsor of the bill in the State Senate.

Here is the link:  GENDA: Another Step Towards Full Equality

I hope you'll read the article.  I'd like to know what you think.

Very truly yours,

Richard N. Gottfried

Dean Skelos hasn't replied to my emails about the issue (though, I'm sure his staffers roll their eyes when they see my name at this point, lol).  Cuomo is the same way.  At least when I met him he was able to be phony enough to pretend that he cares about the same issues.  Governor Cuomo is a great politician and a poor government official in my opinion.  He's great at public speaking and rallying up a crowd even if he doesn't believe anything he says.

I sent my emails in. It feels like they're going to a black hole though. When I called my senator on the state wide call in day, his secretary didn't even know what GENDA was.

Yea.....  even with the bill number S195-2013 ...  I won't forget in the coming November(s) which ones were a lack of help.  ... I'll kick them on this one issue alone even if I have to write in Hello Kitty!
