So I dived into this yesterday and shaved my legs for the first time and I'm curious to know if everyone else's experiences match up with mine.
It really blew me away. It feels and looks so right and so amazing. It's almost a liberating feeling to finally feel one part of me is looking as it should be. It took me forever because I was being careful and it was such a new thing. Didn't cut myself at all, and I'm told I did a pretty good job. My message to a friend afterwards was "holy crap my legs look amazing!", something I'd never really say about any part of me before.
How was it for you?
Pretty much the same experience, with a heaping spoonful of What The Hell Am I Doing!? Hugs, Devlyn

So amazing that I knew I could never, ever, let them get hairy again.

Hah, I got that too after the first swipe of the razor. It was like, "I guess I started, so I'll finish!"
In a totally non-sexual way, I don't think I've ever
touched myself quite so much in one day before.

Couldn't keep your hands off those smooth legs?

Yes! A world of new experiences, so much to explore.
Lol I remember when I was 8 years old a shaved my legs and arms. I loved it! But my parents didnt :(
just the other day I shaved my entire chest and stomach. That was liberating! I have always had austin powers hair and now its finally gone. Its still noticeable bc its so thick and dark. But I hope my hrt will help with that soon. Legs might be next tho!
It was simply amazing. My first time a girl friend in high school asked me to do it. It felt liberating. The smoothness and cleaness. At the time I did it because she asked >:-) So there was a bit of a forbiddeness to it that I hid from my parents.
These days it feels I'm becoming younger with every razor stroke. I shave a little bit more every time I shower now and then I look in the mirror and see little glimpses of there girl I denied for so long.
It would be cruel torture to make me not be smooth all over!!
Such a wonderful feeling :)

Lol i'd love to be hairless but my parents can rarely afford razors :P

I love the results of shaving, but not the act of it. I always make mistakes. Plus dealing with stubble sometimes leads to razor burn. Not very fun.
I'm glad your fist time shaving went well. Hopefully, there will be many more happy shaving moments. :)

Practice makes perfect. And when that fails they have salons. ;)

Oh believe me, I have shaved enough that one should consider me an expert. Yet, I fail all the time, lol.
I swam in high school (as a freshman) - very poorly at that. But the great benefit was the ability to shave my sparse body hair with impunity. ;)
I started shaving recently, I love it! Makes me feel so clean and smooth! It's amazing! ;D
I did cut myself once the first time I shaved, I'm more careful now though so I haven't cut myself since
While i didn't really shave the first time, that first swipe of the washcloth was amazing!! I have kept them silky smooth ever since with one exception and that was to try waxing. Yes waxing lasts longer, but totally not worth the pain lol.

One day I'll work out how shaving dead hair is going to make it stronger and/or thicker. Mind you, when I do, I'll be proving something that has been proven false numerous times..
Sometimes I wonder if the enthuaism in being a top Triathlete was a direct result of my first leg hair waxing - it felt wonderful. Shaving makes it grow back too fast but it easy and convenient. FYI most serious cyclists shave their legs as it prevents infection if you fall and get scraped. I had so many ways to keep stealth my secret.
Here in California now that it's shorts season I'm amazed at how many men I see with smooth legs! I realize we have many cyclists in this state who keep smooth legs, but it almost seems to cross more demographics than just bikes....maybe it's a California thing?
First time I shaved my legs it was nice but when the hair started growing back they itched an the all the little red bumps and after a long shaving no more red bumps or itching I like keeping my legs hairless an smooth. the only place I have hair is on my head an a little patch where I'm not saying :)
It was a wonderful feeling the first time I shaved my legs, it was magical. this happened in 2008
I remember, I was in bath and I lathered my legs with shaving cream and I shaved with a razor, I did not cut myself the first time. I had a girl friend give me tips on shaving before hand.
I loved the feeling my legs, it was so smooth, I remember I wore a pair of pantyhose that day, and that the feeling of the hose on my freshly shaved legs was amazing.
i have kept them shaved ever since..
I first shaved my legs when I was 15 and it was and is heaven.
Having smooth legs again is probably one of the biggest things that I'm happy about recently. And I actually LOVE shaving them, with the only thing about it that annoys me being how long it takes. But I've hated my leg hair ever since it started growing in the first place, around 8th grade or so. My first time ever shaving them was in 9th grade. I stole one of my mom's razors, and went at it. And you know what? It was AWESOME!!! I LOVED the feeling of having smooth legs so much! But unfortunatey, a few guys at school did notice, and they teased me about it, and me being the shy push-over that I am, that social pressure was enough to force me to stop. Well, fast forward 13 years, and my smooth legs are back, baby! And this time not a damned person in the world is going to be able to make me stop. I LOVE having smooth legs! :D That feeling after shaving, looking down at your smooth silky legs and feeling how soft they are, that is one of the best feelings in the world. And now that HRT has knocked the hair density down and made the skin softer, it's even better! I LOVE it!!!
I'm so glad everyone had similar awesome experiences and feelings with shaving. I knew I was signing myself up for a lot of work, I'm just glad it was worth it.
Can I steer the conversation towards shaving advice? Specifically I was wondering what people liked/disliked in terms of razors and shaving products and whatnot? When I went shopping, my wife suggested I try Skintimate Shave Cream for Sensitive Skin - It foams up a storm and works really well. I'm just curious about what else is out there.
Thanks!

I've gotten good results with a Revlon RV557 electric shaver.

Noleen, your legs are amazing!
You ladies really like discomfort!!!
I hate shaving ..only waxing....
And now laser
I'm still using a Gillette Fusion... old habits die hard.
It admittedly is a bit harsh on the legs, (coconut oil really helps to clear up the bumps, though,) but those girly moisturizey razors don't really work on the face, and I still need it for that between laser sessions, so I'm stuck with it for the time being.
My first time shaving was actually before I fully realized I was trans. I just randomly decided to do it and went for it. It took about two hours and I didn't completely finish, I had to spend an hour the next morning finishing up :P
I had so much hair so it took forever and I ended up cutting myself like 10 times, and a lot of them were really deep! I got much better after that now that I'm now longer destroying a forest.
Anyway after all the hours of work, I fell in love with the feel of my smooth legs that I didn't care that I had band-aids all over my knees. Still the day or so after shaving I have a real hard time keeping my hands off.
