Hi,
What do you create?
Some of us draw, some write, some are musicians, web designers, engineers, teachers, and so on and so on. I'd like to get a sense of what we create, how we create it, when we create, and are we happy with our creations?
I create poems all too rarely. I like to think of some of my posts here as creations too.
I also create digital images.
None of what I create is particularly fabulous, however, it sometimes provides me with a sense of peace, accomplishment, and sometimes even brief satisfaction.
stories and mental pictures.
mostly my only skills.
well lets see:
-I play violin, creating music
-I am writing a novel, creating a story of another world
-I create costumes based off of themes or characters
those are my big ones
I draw, sculpt, paint, photograph, computer presentations, web designs, spreadsheets, data bases, computer systems and general havoc with my family (being TS). :)
I do enjoy creating things.

I design and build furniture. I love the wood and the finishing process. There's a feeling to it. I can rub my fingers over the grain and take in the smell of a freshly sanded piece. It sings to me.
I design and build custom instruments to view our universe. They are truly beautiful.
I enjoy making music. I play the cello and a couple of other instruments. I perform with two local symphonies.
The world is beautiful through a camera. I've had some wonderful experiences creating photographic displays, maps, and presentations for our state parks where I live.
Creative writing is a release for me. I have written a few books, most of them are extremely boring technical references.
I've designed some wonderful robotic machines.
COOKING! There is nothing like throwing something wonderful together that I've never tried before. I'm always creating new dishes. I haven't used a cookbook in years.

somethin u cant create love.
All too rarely lately, I create cartoons (when people aren't telling me I'm wasting my time drawing them). A "friend" of mine has been trying to persuade me into learning technical drawing, but that is mostly because she and her friend are trying to start their own project and have been trying to convince me to work with them on it. I hate to tell them, but technical drawings aren't my thing...there's no personality, no fun in them.

I don't know if love can be created, but we all have it within ourselves to nurture and encourage love to grow in our hearts and the hearts of those around us, if we so choose.
I'm a model and create fashion everywhere I go.
Electronics and software engineer
I also like woodworking, but I'm terrible at it.
Writing and art mostly - i'm actually taking part in a book that gets sent round the world and people fill in pages with creative things and it should be with me soon :) Sadly, i dont think ill be able to do as good a job as id like to - having lost all my passion for creativity and most things lately...
I'd love to be able to create music since it is my passion, but i dont seem to have the focus right now - i can however look at others work quite contently... i enjoy it.
What do I create?
A MESS!
Er, sometimes a an unmess but usually just a mess ;)
Mostly tho a bunch of half finished things. I am a programmer by trade, save I am not so good at the 'by trade' part. But, the short of it is, programs. Things digital. Sadly, I never seem to have time/energy/TIME for the crafts.. sewing, painting, etc.
Ironic. Truly ironic. But anyway, yeah, a mess. I'm good at that. ;)
i create stories (website is in my siggy) and i like to create them mostly before bed at night.
And i also create artwork for those stories.
And i create an awful noise when i try to create music :-\ Can never seem to get that right
chaos
Solutions.
Innovative and original technical resolutions and solutions.
It has always been a forte of mine and one of the characteristics which make me a Technician "Par Excellence".
And the flying public is immeasurably safer, because of what I do.
I love trying to capture emotions and feelings in words.
I love trying to capture moods and flavours in photographs.
But my real passion is dreaming my world, my worldview, and caring for all the magical relationships within it. My world is like a garden to me, where I can wander here and there, getting my hands into the cool dirt, enjoying the scents of new blooms, tending to the sprouts in trouble, planting new seeds now and then, and generally just loving every square inch of it.

I create websites. What else would a web developer create?
I'm an interior designer. I create style and themes for my clients. :)

Wow jillieann,
It sounds like you have a lot going on. Sculptures sound hard.
So far, it's been interesting. Let's keep the posts coming, people. I feel good vibes when I read these.
I forgot to add photography. I'm starting to get into portrait photography and have a couple of shoots lined up over the next couple of months
I create joy where ever i go.

I forgot i take a few pics, have this one of what is called fingers of god. better known as beams of light showing through clouds.
I love it!!!
Maybe we can kick it up a notch by having people tell an interesting story that led to, or involved something they created.
I just realized that when Ricki comes back, we should hear some really good stories involving cooking.
this is the first, and in all likelihood the last time that i am able to pull this off:
On mothers day, I went to my parents house to visit and hang out with my family (especially my mother). Well my father was cooking some food on the grill, and while we were waiting on that to cook, I was in his office with him and he pulled out his guitar and started playing a slow melodic riff. Well I pulled out my violin and started playing along with him, just random notes, whatever came to mind at the time, it didn't matter. I became one with the music and lost into it, giving time and my problems no meaning, for I was the music and it was me. He and I played like that for about 15 minutes i think (don't quote me on that one for I'm not even sure), and when I turned around my mother was standing there listening and I didn't even realize. She loved it too, and I can say that was one of the few times like that that I could say I was "truly" lost in the music, because nothing else mattered to me at the time.
i create art and music. i also create money, lots of it.
I specialize in dissension, acrimony, heartache, self-loathing, and rage on a good day of trolling.
I am an architect, I also I make virtual buildings as well as real ones. I try to write and sketch.. but finding the time is hard!
I've always got about 100 creative projects in my head and maybe 6-8 in various stages of completion (usually early stages). Right now I'm battling for time to learn/improve at figure sculpture, which I love. Then there's web design, computer art, wood and paper craft, writing,... it goes on. The good thing about creative projects is you've always got something to do. The bad thing is you've always got so many things you wish you had time to finish.
Lyric
oh yeah... I make a mean sandwich.
I make movies. :)
QuoteI make movies.
What kind? Anime, porn, general interest? Or are you more of a producer?
Either way, that is way cool.

I create hybrids. I am a botanist. ;)
I create hybrids, I'm into bestiality... ;)

I read that it's actually legal in Britain to create human embyros that have animal DNA or RNA or something. No wonder our navies are gathering off of your coast. See? we're right there just beyond the mist.
Beyond my mist...what? Your just at the end of my back garden...heaven help me.
Whenever I hear about USA's military might I think of John Cleese. How he wandered around looking at all the really expensive gadgets and all he wanted to ask was where the grown ups were.
LOL @ Thundra & Rebecca. It's a very small-time pursuit of mine, but this summer I'm producing and directing a short film that's hopefully going to Sundance. My last projects have been music videos, and it's cool to finally take the step into real filmmaking. Here's my studio's website: http://www.resonancedigital.com (http://www.resonancedigital.com)

I'm pleased to meet you. I hope you do make it to Sundance.
Is producing hard?

Thanks! Nice to meet you too. :)
It's not really that hard. There's just a lot of things to keep track of (cast, props, budget, schedule). I'm also going to be directing and editing the picture, which makes you wear a lot of hats at once.
Havoc in a courtroom if I'm having a good day.
In my off hours, I sing - I'm a do-wop boy (backup and harmony), not a soloist other than the odd line, but I love singing in a group with really good singers and having that feeling when it all comes together in a performance.
I play classical guitar, but almost never in front of people.
And I love fine woodworking. Finishing a piece until it's smooth as glass and all of the beauty of the natural wood comes out. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to do that lately.
I'm also designing and renovating my place at a pace slower than cold tar, but I wait to find the time and the right finish, tile, piece, to fit where I want it, so it's taking a long time. Plus I'm learning trades I never knew before. Done the electricity (although I had a licensed guy do the stuff that needed to be to code), and I need to learn some plumbing before I redo the kitchen.
Dennis
wow, quite the jack of all trades there dennis
I bring order out of chaos by administrating hospital business and clinical computer systems. I also create laughter everyday. I create a peaceful environment for my family. I create a haven for dogs and cats and finches.
I play guitar and bass.

I found this post to be very lovely, Rachel.
I can imagine what that moment must have been like. May you continue to find this type of joy in your life.
Theoretically I write comic books. But I'm not currently working on anything. But soon I'll be kicking out the fat jams.
I also review comic books at my world famous comic blog.
And then I write extremely emo-tastic blogs about whatever to amuse my friends. I should do more, but I'm still kind of figuring out how I fit in, and what will make me happiest.
