She cornered me at work and got it out of me...
"Well if thats the worst thing your going to do in life im ok with it. Your my child and ill always love and accept you. Also you have to promise to smile more often since I know whats been making you so sad all these years."
So uneventful
I have been crying on and off in happiness all day long.
YAY!!!!!!!! I love this post, and your Mom! Hugs, Devlyn
Wow! how lucky.... i Hope it will go that easy for me.
Erin, I am so happy for you! What an understanding mother, and how nice it is for things to be "uneventful" sometimes! Enjoy the experience!
WooT!!
So happy for you... its gonna take a while to fully sink in .. No more Hiding anything!.
This is great! Wish my mother had said something so kind the first time I told her. Congratulations, I hope you feel wonderful. :D
That was great. The title led me to believe it was going to be a horror story. I wish it would go that well with my father. I'm pretty sure he'd rather that I were a drug dealer or a murderer than to be a girl.
Awesome! I'm glad you have an understanding mother. Cherish her!
Awe... you gave me happy tears :*)
Thats awesome Erin. Happiest post of the day that I read. :)
Thank you all for your sweet comments.
I still cant quite get over how well that 5 minute talk went... FIVE MINUTES AND DONE.
I sent her a text after she left work saying if she had any questions that id answer as best as I could.
I really wanted to sit and talk with her as mother and daughter and not mother and son but work pulled us away.
....
Still cant seem to put a cap on these tears.
WOW! That is good news. Thank you for sharing.
That's awesome! I'm glad that things will be able to work out for you with your mom
youre so lucky to have an understanding and loving mother..
congrats!
So I'm up wandering the net, honestly unsure if I'm feeling thrilled about my most recent session with my therapist, or depressed about my lot in life when I came across this post.
;D
We should all be this lucky. I'm so happy for you!
Yay! Your mother sounds fantastic - give her an extra-big hug. She deserves it. :)

My Mum did the same thing to me when I got home after work. And had much the same reaction. I'm really happy for you. ^_^
Awesome :)
Soooo sweet!!!
That's great news. She pays attention to you

Apparently too well.
She told me she had an idea I was trans... O_o?
Who thinks of all the things in the world your child could be that trans is up there on that list?
*mind blown*
Your Mom deserves a card and flowers. I am very happy for you.

I agree! I was bracing myself for something bad, but its quite the opposite!

My mom guessed it! I was all mopey for a while and one morning we literally had this conversation..
"Is it a gay thing?"
"no.."
"Is it a transgender thing?"
"...kind of..."
Of course, that was followed by denial for a long time but is all good now.
Anyway, thats amazing how your mom reacted! Good for you! :D
I know you've heard this a thousand times, but that's so good to hear! :)
So happy for you!!
Wow, Erin! I'm so happy for you! I hope my mum would be like that too (I'm afraid not, but anyway)
You are really lucky for having a mum like that! :D
Thank you all again for your sweet comments however the excitement suddenly died for me.
I just received a phone call saying my endo appointment is canceled after I waited for two months because the doctor will be out of the office. I can try to juggle my work schedule around again and try to see a different endo on the 8th (doubtful), or I can reschedule for the end of August.....
I'm so pissed right now

You would be surprised. Some people really pick up on the fact that your a girl. It's weird but some can figure it out. Oh wait till your mom has the talk with you about sex, boys and personal feminine hygiene... It's very embarrassing... :)
That is awesome news. so happy for you.
Sorry to hear about the endo appointment tho. but do let it get you down keep with the positive.

They normally have some good advice. My mom gave me tons of sex advice no matter how much I covered my head with my pillow
Wow, what a great reaction ! I wish my mom would react like that, but knowing she won't, I'm still waiting with coming out to her.
Congrats! you must be relieved and happy :-)
And that, my darlings, is how to be a great parent. If I wore hats, I'd tip it in your Mom's honor.

Awww! I'm happy for you :)
So after a little strife and stress I was able to juggle my work schedule around and get in next monday to see my endo. I hope there isnt going to be another reason it gets put off for another 2 months.
Ive also thought about asking my mother to be there for my first pill. I also wanted her input on possible names, not have her name me but if she would have had a daughter what her name would have been.... im not so sure I like Erin being that its so close to my male name.
