Title: something I thought of last night
Post by: ChelseaAnn on June 27, 2013, 06:37:29 AM
So, I'll be coming out to my spouse on August 23rd (my support and my therapist will all be holding me to this.) I don't think she'll take it very well, but one thing I'd just thought of last night: her father paid for our wedding. I can't imagine there is, but, he can't make me pay that back to him, can he? I mean, he's that kind of guy who will hold something like that over your head, but legally, since there's no contract, etc., he can't come after me for the money, right?

EDIT: Given the fact if we get a divorce I mean.

No, if there's no paper...it doesn't exist as far as the law is concerned.

I'm not a lawyer, but that's what I understand, anyway.
