I'm about to get out of the military and I might not have a job for a while because only 2 or 3 places in the US have been hit harder by the recession. I want to go back to school too and am just unsure about how my finances will work out. I'm a little scared that if I start transitioning that I might not be able to do all of it fast enough. Are my fears justified?
It depends.
Transitioning is acceptance, coming out, makeup, buying clothes (think "thrift stores" at first, maybe always), therapy, hormones, and ultimately surgery(-ies).
Throw in friendships, relationships, life, cars, family...all need to be transitioned (or acquired). Education is part of life...so is money+job etc.
"Transition" can last a year, or a lifetime. It all depends on your resources and resourcefulness.
You won't be buying hormones anytime soon (it takes a few months to get them), so just regular life stuff is priority...but you can buy a few clothes and figure out what size you wear. Plus, you probably want to take your time...so I'd say a typical transition is a 5-10 year process. Go from there...

They are but on the bright side you have your GI bill plus financial aide plus you can work as like a weighted to save up some money. With everything you have coming your way you should be fine :)
Just don't dive into full time right away. Save up and major in something you can use like a two year nursing degree or like radiology tech degree. A bs in liberal arts will screw you if you do that first . Or like I know people who single major in psychology cuz they wanna be a shrink. Not smart to single major in something like that right off the back cuz now they have to wait until they start and finish there phD to afford surgeries. I think you will be just fine though.

I won't be presenting girlie until I'm recovers from ffs

To stack up all the cost after ffs and laser to date is

I view it as a life long process. But it is a long road to becoming female depending on when you start. Patience is key.
