So im wondering if anyone on here is on Live, i know we probably won't be able to post gamertags, but it would be fun to see who games and what there flavor of choice is.
I play black ops 2, MW3, Sniper Elite V2 and a couple of Lego games.
There is a growing tread for this in the hobby forum. ;)
I'm a gamer girl... But I don't touch XBox. If Microsoft wanted my money, they shouldn't've closed Ensemble Studios. *Glares in the general direction of Redmond*
before my xbox crashed last month I held 558 on the all time leaderboards in call of duty black ops 2. I play mostly call of duty games, elder scrolls, the zelda series, alot of old SNES games. I play alot of PC games also, currently I been on a Mech warrior online binge
-=EVE=-
ONLINE
ISN FLEET COMMANDER
SMALL FAST SHIELDS PVP FLEET COMMANDER
Famous ladyboy in space
I am NGResonance. And carrier pilot Resonance Storm
I have live but since the dysphoria hiked up in intensity I haven't been playing much.
Previously I played Halo for money, but I like most of Bioware's RPGs, the new Tomb Raider, Minecraft, and Dynasty Warriors.
I haven't been in the mood for intense gaming for about a month now.
I love xbox live ingame chat cause its a good place to practise your voice, gamers are mean, its easy to tell ifyour voice passes or not when your playing games. your being mocked or they think your cute. XD
Omg reels!!!

Nice! What style of music do you play?
Rock and Avant Garde. Occasionally blues.
Got a knack for weird time signatures too.

Like what? Noise, ambient, experimental?
This:

Frank Zappa - Approximate (1974) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89LPVXrm_Ic#)
Not actually able to play these two, just soloing over them. Do like creating soundscapes with my guitar though.

I mainly play Black Ops 2 if anyone wants to join me - xbl gt:sad squirrel eh

Cool. What do you use to create the soundscapes?
just my trusty Zoom G1XNEXT. All guitar with a lot of delay and effects. Used to hide my playing behind it. Now i've balanced it out.
The guy who saved me from suicide today has jammed with me two days ago. Later on i started singing because i couldn't keep up.

Proud gamer chick. RPGs and FPSs mostly, but i enjoy a diverse selection of games.
I let my Live lapse a while ago, I wasn't using it enough. Mostly because I play FPS, primarily Halo, but I'm bad at them. Which makes playing online less fun :P
Recently been getting into steam games, mostly RTS but I recently got Civ V. It's pretty good, but I haven't played older Civ games so I couldn't compare them.

I love civ 5 ^_^ It's a great game. I like creating just one mega city (instead of the sprawling empires I used to prefer) and owning everyone around me :) Wonderful fun.
I used to play Elder Scrolls. A lot. I played all day long and only got up for food and drinks (and obviously using the toilet).

I actually love to bully those one city challenge empires. Just settle cities on either side of them and mass troops on the border to see how long it takes them to declare war on me. There are certainly parts of that game that make you feel a little like a maniac dictator haha
I used to play Skyrim way too much, ditto with Minecraft (I was on a server and spent my time on a megabuild of a baseball stadium)
I'm really into the Mass Effect series and my two roommates in my apartment are two guys who game way more often than me. I think next semester we will have in our apartment:
- NES
- SNES
- N64
- XBox 360
- WiiU
This isn't counting the Genesis and Dreamcast I have back home XD
but yeah, none of us play on Live so sorry about that. I always perfer single player experience and the multi player experiences I like are split screen with people in the room. It's all about personal connection you know?

I am a civ addict as well
Oh and I am mainly a pc gamer
I'm a gamer to some extent. More than a casual gamer, but less than a hardcore one. However, I'm not fond of X-box or Microsoft. My linux fan girl rage won't allow me to support them, lol. I prefer Playstation and older game consoles. Playstation one and two are my favourites of all due to the fact that was the peek of RPG/adventure gaming. Nowadays things are too focused on FPS games. Still, I do love my PS3. I do want to try steam and more pc gaming, but Steam for linux doesn't have the largest library yet (and I'm too broke at the moment, lol).
oh also anyone who sends me friend requests over the xbox your gonna have to wait a few days for me to accept it till I get my xbox out of pawn. I needed gas money to go back and forth from work :'(
My wife and I are hardcore Sony fangirls. :P We're big into our Japanese RPGs. So sad to hear Atlus filed for bankruptcy!

yippeee a linux fan like me. I have found one :)
I love Zelda but get the feeling y'all are talking about online multi-player action. Never done that. I tried to get into MW3 and it just...doesn't do anything for me. I do love GTA though. Or at least I used too. And my favorite game of all time would of course be...Perfect Dark.

Ooh, I used to play these games and def still could. I love building empires. Can you attack other empires in the CIV games? I think that adds an extra awesome component to them.
The most straight forward way to win is to attack the other empires and take their capitals, though I'm a fan of cultural victory myself. I don't really do much online play personally, some people take it all too seriously.

More than one, I have refused to allow any other OS on my computers since 1997. Though nowadays I get away with implementing national government sized systems on Linux.

what distros do you run?
Ooooh dear! That question.
I started on Slackware (boot floppy, root floppy), got fed up and moved to Redhat. Got irritated by the package management system and moved to Suse. Got bored and tried Redhat again which hadn't improved much so went to Debian. Stable for production machines and testing for my own (with custom realtime kernel).
Got fed up with spending more time nursing the operating systems than getting things done so went to Ubuntu. Developed a dislike for Gnome so went to Kubuntu studio. Currently using Kubuntu studio for my main machine, Xubuntu for the netbook and RHEL for work machines (because it gives management types a warm and comfy feeling to be able to blame someone else).

If more games had Linux support, I'd make the jump in a heartbeat. I'm hoping Steam's support for OSX and Linux will help with that, alongside the fact that the PS4 is essentially a PC with forced OpenGL usage.
I understand the frustration on choosing a distro. I currently run linux mint 14 kde (waiting for 15)

I understand the feeling. I actually keep a partition of windows 7 for that very reason.

I understand that feeling. I don't really game on the pc for this reason. I do dual boot Windows 7 though in case there is something I have to play. Originally, I was excited about Diablo 3. Then I played it :P.
The way things look Steam for linux, Ooya, and other android gaming consoles may prove good for open source gaming, but I doubt we are ever going to see major titles. Right now everything is more Indie than anything. I don't see Microsoft losing it's dominance for the mainstream games.
You never know about Microsoft with windows 8 I know a lot of people that are jumping ship, but being a techie that does not say much either. A lot of my friends are techies too so.... I don't know.
Linux is slowly gaining favor, quite a bit of which is due to dissatisfaction with W8 and Microsoft's pricing ($250 for a non-OEM variant of Windows? About the same for MS Office? LOLNOTHX). With programs like OpenOffice becoming more mainstream, people are realizing free alternatives exist for the first time ever (well, ignoring pirates).
Maybe I'm an optimist, but with all the mistakes Microsoft is making, open source software might be a more widely accepted alternative within the next generation or so.
