Hey! In March I had my second sign off from Dr Davies in Charing Cross London and was thereafter referred to have my SRS surgery. I was told a funding request would need to be sent off to my PCT (which was rarely refused) and I should hear back from them within about 6 weeks and would thereafter be invited to meet the surgeon.
I have waited since March and still not heard anything! I contacted the surgeon's secretary who said my request still hadn't been responded to and apparently my referral was sent off in the midst of all the PCT's being taken over by another source. She told me to chase my local PCT, who then told me they had never received my referral and it could be NHS England dealing with this. I then called them who told me they couldn't tell me any information and my case would be allocated to a case worker and somebody would get back to me within 2 weeks (this was over 2 weeks ago now). I still have not heard anything and wondered if there is anybody else who would have been referred around the same time as me and still waiting for this funding!!
Any advice/comments welcome, thanks!
Ask for names. When bureaucrats have to give their name, they suddenly become more responsible.
Best of luck scheduling your surgery Jaime :D
I have asked for names, I was told my case worker was called "Simon", somebody I am still yet to speak to!
You know, Jaime Jennifer, you have been here for three years. I have seen you grow in confidence and, OMG, have you gotten pretty.
Haha thank you very much! ;D Now I just need this last stage of my journey to be complete!
Can I make a polite request that you update the thread with any news you have please? I have recently had a referral to an endo and was asked to get back in touch with my gender specialist in a year's time but, given the geological speed the NHS tends to move at, would be very intreested in hearing about your experiences.
Rosie.
PS, I agree with JamieD
