I was going through a journal that he had written. I didn't recognise him. He is truly dead.
I LOVE this life, I love me and I love you all.
Just thought I'd say it!!!

Good for you! Don't say it too loud as it might spread and be catching. ;D
I am happy that "he" is a distant memory and your now enjoying life as you should.
Happy days ahead for you.
Perhaps you should hold a wake, seriously?
I look forward to being like you, happy. Working on it but it is hard.
Jen
I'm happy for you. Can't wait until i reach the point where he is dead too. I'm just starting though
I've actually considered the wake idea after my SRS, along with celebrating my birthday on a new day more significant for Wynn in following years
I hadn't thought of that!
A wake!!!!!
Geex, well you are all invited of course.
OMG another project.

I'm really happy for you Cindy! I have been writing a lot about this very thing (of not being able to recognize the person I used to be) here on susans lately, just because it kinda bugs me. I've kinda worked through it, though, I think. It's something like metamorphosis of a butterfly or of a phoenix risen from the ashes is how I'm looking at it.
The more striking the change, the stronger your cognitive dissonance when you see your old self, I'm guessing. So I think the really young transisitoners may have a hard time understanding this feeling we deal with, which is lucky for them imo.
