...and they're either far too skimpy, or they're made for people who have big-a$$ hips. (pun intended).
I'm not keen on wearing man-shorts, but if it's a choice between that and going bottomless... >:-)
Any tips? Suits or sources to focus on?
Tia
Well I don't got any tips your braver than me. I don't think you'll catch me in a bikini even post op. ;)
My GF has a very cute skirt-like bottom, almost retro in styling...
I think that cut fits certain considerations.

Hey, if you got boobers...you can do a top! ;) And I know you're fit, so a one-piece isn't necessary...but of course it is your choice how much you want to show!

Yeah, that's the kind I'm looking for...but haven't found one yet.

I just don't feel comfortable in anything skimpy it triggers all that I dislike about myself. :-\ I wish I had your self confidence Beth.
Could you make some do-it-yourself cutoffs?

Actually, I'm in the process of doing that. I have some tight-legged jeans that fit, but it's too hot to wear them...SOOOooooo....once I find the "skissors" (remember "Romper Room" years ago...?) I will have myself a fresh-made bouquet of cut-offs.
:)
C'mon people, if we don't find this bathing suit bottom, Beth can't come out of the water!

Oooh, she had an itsy-bitsy
teeny-weeny
yellow-polka dot bikini
That she wore
for the first time today...
So this is what I found in my clothes box...it's a lady's bottom piece, but it looks mannish. (It's a thin fabric covering in the shape of shorts, but without the lining found in men's shorts...I am wearing a nylon/spandex (?) lady's bikini bottom under it, but it looks more like a "speedo" than a swimsuit...and I don't fill it out well enough to actually display it).

Yes, there is a bit of weight involved...but OH WELL! Like I said in another thread...I'm not getting paid to show my skin, so my adoring public will just have to deal.
eta: Anyone with a photoshop who would like to take off some of the glare, it'd be greatly appreciated. My tan is in progress, but until then overexposure (in more ways than one) is the word of the day... :)
The shorts do look mannish. Have you tried searching for skirtinis? Another option to hide your smaller hips is to get something like a tiered or empire waisted swimdress where the fabric naturally flares out.

Cool, thank you for the new term. I shall commence searching ASAP!
Have you thought about board shorts? I have a pair that I love and they can be worn with a bikini top, tankini top, or if you want the full surf look, a womens surf shirt aka rash guard.
Here is a link to a pair similar to mine

Ok, thanks. I noticed the male inseam is 9", and the woman's is 5"...I noticed earlier today (at a Target store) that they had women's "factory cut-offs" for women, with the inseam at 3".
Seems the big difference is the length of the inseam...which will be important, once I find my skizzors.
Here you go Beth. Take your pick ...

No thank you, Jamie! Well...maybe the second from the left...
:)
I wore my mannish shorts all this afternoon, didn't have any complaints or issues. Tonight at home I took the shorts off, and gave the inside shorts a second look...they don't look like speedos at all...and actually they look kinda good on me, imho.
Maybe I just needed to get used to showing my sexy, shapely legs to people...I'm taking this one step at a time.
:)
