Looking for a bit of advice here people. I am going to an interview for college tomorrow and don't want them to put down my 'name' as I am changing it legally next month. I am unsure as of what to actually say to the people at the interview and what specifically I am to make them aware of/ what is none of their business :P I am currently dressing as male and will be doing so to my interview and plan to begin transitioning after I see my specialist in July so if I begin college in August I guess I would need to let them know. I'm not altogether sure what I should tell them as my appointment with my specialist is not till July.
Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated
Well, this is just an opinion but if you're sure you're going to transition anyway, use your male name at the interview too. The only thing you actually need your given name for is official documents and then only until you get it changed legally.
YMMV

You can explain to them that you're transgendered. Usually, colleges are pretty liberal about that stuff, and won't count it against you; in fact, they may count it in your favor if they think you've grown and matured from it. Unless you're going to Backwoods Bible Baptist Catholic Mormon Institution for the Morally Righteous, but who wants to go there?
how did it go?

:D luckily it's non denominational but full of hooligan type people :P
It went really rather good thanks - I got registered as my new name (which I am yet to change and they said it shouldnt be a problem when i bring my documentation up just to get everything straight) she was really understanding yet i dont know how much was understanding and how much was cluelessness haha Just gotta wait till July to speak to my therapist before i change my name and apply for support in college :)
