OMG what is this climate change stuff?
Snow is forecast tomorrow in Adelaide, Ye in the Hills and no it won't stick but .....What do you wear to the beach in the snow?
Fur lined bikini? ::)
Depends who you ask.
A Canadian can fornicate in the snow. We don't even notice the temperature until it can freeze a motor and prevent it from running. To us, dangerous starts at minus 50.
This week it has been several days of body temperature weather, ie hot enough you wouldn't cool if your insides were exposed to the air. Humidity sufficiently brutal that the 'feels like' readings are about 105 to 110 F (for our US friends that likely don't think feels like 45 means much :) ).
I'm looking forward to my fall and more snow.
Hon they are forecasting 2C,
I'm adapted to live in 40+C
OMG
How do people live in those places!!!!!!
It's rather refreshing actually. I have managed to walk nude in the dead of a winter night for up to an hour nothing on but boots.
Now on the other hand, I have had occasions where 80+ can cause me to go dizzy and faint just from the effort of walking.
In my previous apartment, prolonged spans of time ie past 3 days, of 80+ heat with no A/C tends to make me feel trapped and border line hysterical.
Meanwhile, here in the UK people are actually dying because the temperature has hit 27C (80.6F).
Apparently, having a fortnight of temperatures above 25C constitutes a 'heatwave' in the UK. If it wasn't for the fact that non-adapted people are genuinely dying, this would be hilarious.
Another thing about this that makes me roll my eyes (as a South African) is that there have been several wildfires in the UK as a result of this heat. We Saffies know exactly what causes these fires: ignorant people throwing lit cigarettes out of their car windows without a care in the world, because they're so used to the grass being soggy from the rain that they do this all the time. Thanks to the 'heatwave' the grass is currently brown and tinder-dry, but people keep chucking out their lit ciggies all the same.
British tourists doing this are a major cause of wildfires in South Africa because it simply doesn't occur to them that dry grass + lit cigarette = fire hazard.
Yesterday we had a heat index of 105 F with 80% humidity....I miss winter so bad!
I'll trade with you Cindy. Where I live is not really that hot right now, somewhere around 90 degrees F. The humidity is 100%. That pretty much relates to needing gills to breathe.
I maybe live in a place that's a bit like where you live but we have low humidity. Still when it's HOT it's hot, even though it's pretty dry (that said I can't stand high humidity). Have fun wiht the snow. I'm sure it melts. We do have seasons though.
BTW, I did sort of a double take ,but then you are in winter and we are in summer.

That entirely depends on whether you get a Brazilian wax first.
I really feel I should post an inappropriate comment here >:-)
After all Cindy did melt during our summer when it was 46C.
Now freezing with snow?
;)
When I moved back to Adelaide last year I thought THAT was a tough winter!
Sydney has been a much more mild winter this year... not really, but there is nothing quite like the freezing cold winds ripping through you that you can get in Adelaide.
You know what they say! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow... :)

Oh no Cyndi, I'll express you some of the nice wool scarves I knit. ;D
Oh, forgot to mention it, Cindy, there's an exercise you can perform to make the snow easier for the rest of us to take. Push your top lip against your bottom lip, and no matter how many snowflakes you think you see, just keep pushing! Attagirl.
Boy, it's hot in Boston, I'm shvitzing like a horse!
It's obvious, this is all about an excuse to wear her new fur lined bikini with a pair of sunglasses 8)
Ha!
I'll wait until you lot are back in the freeze of winter and I will be full of sympathy >:-)
In the mean time, I hope the mossies get you >:-)
Sorry, I forgot to include mention of the matching high heels and purse

Whoops!
Who let the Kat out of the bag?
My home town is 38-40 C, 98-102% moisture in summer and -5-10 C in winter... No as horrible as Canada though.
One snow flake is not a blizzard, Cindy.

I've seen cis-women who looked like they were wearing a fur-lined bikini...but it wasn't fur, and it wasn't from the bikini...
:o
