And the bottom of the wing has your birthday?
Looks good.
Strong and masculine. Make sure the colours are good, vibrant!!!
Sort of feel like walking down the street with you in a Tee and showing it off and me feeling proud of my guy!
Whoops!!!
I dont, but I got my first pircing when I changed my name.
I took my name out of a comic character I had made and he used to have a pircing in his ear so I got that as well in the vacation before starting on a new school as my new name.
I would never get a tattoo for my transition, simply because I hate being trans and don't want to celebrate that fact in any way.
However, when I thought I had a choice in my gender and planned on living female, I did always want to get some sort of a chest tattoo with the male symbol over my heart, just because that's always what felt right.
Great tattoo design, that's gonna look really badass if you can find a great artist who can add a lot of colour to that (or is really good at black and gray, not sure what you're going for with it).
I don't want any that are trans in nature, though I plan on starting a sleeve (or hell, maybe two) after I finally have bottom surgery. Free to mark myself up after years of surgery and other ~fun~ things that generally make the thought of getting a tattoo terrifying. I just don't want to risk getting ink in places only to have them moved when I'm able to afford the rest of things.
I would, except, I don't have tattoos. I found out I am NOT the only trans guy with no tattoos. But gosh I'm close.
I REALLY like it. I hope you've had others as it is a big tattoo.
BTW, I've seen a couple others: The male symbol (arrow thingie) and a seahorse (the seahorse has the trans character of the male carrying the young).

That sounds cute! Seahorses are my favourite animal and I was considering getting some kind of sea portrait on my chest, and then I would fit the male symbol in there somehow.
I don't have any trans related tattoos yet but I've considered getting something subtle. I've seen a few guys with a seahorse and I like that. Might get one and incorporate my T start date in the tail.
I wouldn't get just a date that stands out because people will always ask what it's for and I don't like lying. I wouldn't get the "three gender" (or whatever it's called) symbol or a male symbol. That's a little too telling. How many cis guys do you see with a tattoo of their gender? While I don't hate being trans as it has shaped me and how I see the world, I am a private person.
Simon, I'm "out" but I don't advertise. :)
Oh this was a necklace, but this guy, Beck, on youtube did a simplified T molecule. That's a cool idea. Kind of discrete as it would just be a bunch of hexagons. You wouldn't need the labels on the elements. http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/loom/tag/chemistry-tattoos/page/2/#.Ue2QvWT700M (http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/loom/tag/chemistry-tattoos/page/2/#.Ue2QvWT700M) (and other chemistry tattoos)

I'm interested in a koifish tattoo on my shoulder, they're suppose to fall along those lines. Perserverance, overcoming obstacles, ataining higher goals and such.
Of course I really only want it because it looks pretty.
I want a vegvisir (Icelandic compass/sign post) on my left shoulder, maybe with some other runes beneath it. Not solely because of wanting to know the direction to go in for transition, but also in life in general. That sort of thing. I wouldn't wait until a certain point in my transition either, but I might do something else for that, maybe that's when I could add the runes...
I'm of the opinion that my body is a map of my life, so tattoos are something I'm really interested in. I suppose it comes from being more scarred than a werewolf...
BTW, the true MTF fish is the clownfish. All clownfish start their lives as male and some end up female. I'm guessing it would be completely obscure, as I think only marine tank hobbyists would know this. I read Koi fish means you are out as gay.

I don't hate being trans, but I don't feel the need to advertise it in any way. I just feel like I'm private and would rather get a tattoo to symbolize something else important in my life that isn't so personal and private.
This is the tattoo I got when starting my transition, I'm sure some of you will recognise him :3
My reasoning behind Gir in particular is because he's a robot pretending to be dog, just as I have been pretending to be something I'm not for far too long. That and I just love Gir

Awesome tattoo! For me, I would not get any tattoos related to my transition because I view my transition as a result of a birth defect and I hate it. Aside from that, I have no intentions of getting any tattoos at all because 1. They cost money 2. The ones that I would want wouldn't look good on my body and 3. I hate needles. If I did get a tattoo it would probably be on my arm saying "Prince of all Saiyans". Ideally, I would like a tattoo of Vegeta or some Sailor Moon related tattoo but that's not going to happen.

If you read the very bottom of that page, the Wrasse would be a better fish for a trans man to get tattooed on them. They're not as distinctive as a clownfish though.

Well I was responding to an MTF on the Koi. I don't think I am getting tattoos. But if I did it would DEFINITELY not be a clownfish. I could think of specific Wrasses. But then again being a fish geek I could. :)

ok thats awesome someone else has a tattoo of gir! :D but mine is crap as hell so im not posting a photo til i get it touched up :P

I agree and don't understand when trans people say they hate being trans. I'm not trying to down people for their own experience but being trans has shaped who I am. It's not the focus of my life anymore like it was pre transition. It's just kinda there hanging out in the background and visits me once a week via a needle. It's a maintenance issue more than anything and will be even less of an issue in the next year when I can stop binding and get my last court date outta the way.
I did notice the guys who said they hate it are pre medical and/or social transition so maybe that is where their loathing of it comes from?

i think so too :)
and i agree on your other points - early transition and pre-medical transition - gender and my trans status dominated every part of my life, oddly only recently i found that i actually dont really think of it at all anymore, i dont even visit here ALL the time anymore :) i think it must happen to everyone, you get to a stage where youre comfortable with your changes and yourself and then youre just like ok! time to live! i actually forgot to take my shot this week >.< time to go back to setting reminders - thankfully i was only a day late this time >.< it might not happen for all of you haters, but you shouldnt hate your trans status, it just makes you unique, it makes you - you, and it its definately shaped who you are, be proud, you dont have to show it out loud, but inside, try to accept yourselves, you are what you are, embrace it. you only get one shot, dont spend it being bitter about being dealt a REALLY ->-bleeped-<-ty card. - even though its hard. :)

i think the koi fish gay out thing is about as credible as getting your ears pierced on certain sides, god people are ridiculous ;D though it probably holds true in some circles/cultures

Not trying to start anything, but as someone who is "post"/in transition medically, I hate being trans. I would have rather been born cis, male or female. It's agony having your mind and body not match up and anyone who can actually put their feelings aside and deal with it is probably pretty strong. While my overall dysphoria has decreased since starting transition, there is nothing I can do to change the fact that I was born and raised as a female for a significant portion of my life. It's not shaped who I am in any positive way and no matter what I do, I just can't live the life I feel I should have. There will always be a reminder that I'm trans under it all and that makes me incredibly angry/bitter.
That being said, I don't see the issue with someone accepting or embracing being trans. If it's been positive in your life in some way, shape, or form, that's good on you and it's none of my business. I do, however, take issue with people telling me to take pride in being trans or to suck it up and get over it because it took a long time/a lot of therapy to accept that I was trans and that transitioning was the best path for me. I don't have to like being trans. I'm transitioning, I'm doing my best to get by, and if I hate being trans, it doesn't mean that I hate other people who are trans or want to force my feelings on their experiences. Just sayin'.
Back to the topic at hand...
To Geek - the Stargate bit is actually a fun idea. Don't you love it when you're given a new language to work with so you can have subtlety and a bit of nerdy style without going overboard?

I'm just reporting what I read. I don't think it is credible. And if someone is a cisguy and wants a clownfish on his arm, I don't know that would make him secretly MTF.

Well Kaiju, I try to avoid telling people how they should feel. I don't think it's really my right. I am personally out and proud, but I don't think everyone would want to or even be safe with this.

Omg, when I was younger I totally did not know which one to pierce. People seem to have different ideas on which ear it is. ::)

At any rate I think having a clownfish on my arm would be embarrassing. >.<
I personally love tattoos, I plan on having at least 20 before I die, mostly as leg sleeves. I only have one right now, and it isn't trans related. For a while I contemplated getting a trans tattoo, but honestly, It's not something I'm out and proud about. More power to all that are, it just isn't for me. I might get the male symbol incorporated into another tattoo, but that's about it. Even then I think I want to wait until my arms are at there full size before I get any more because I don't know what the effects on a tattoo would be pertaining to stretching.
i deff want to get a trans related tattoo but i dont know what to get at all. i already have 8 tattoos and i have my sleeves planed out but i dont know what to get that is trans related or where i would put it.
I have been thinking about a trans related tattoo on my shin. What shall I get? No.idea. I was considering a mythical creature..the spinx or a manticore. *shrug*
I'm planning on getting a phoenix; being reborn from the ashes of your former self resonates with me. Just need to get the details sorted, and save up money of course.

Great coloration on that ->-bleeped-<-! So bright!
My trans related tattoos are incognito I guess.
I practiced SI for a long time. When I finally made peace with myself and with being trans, I had this added to my arm. The scars are worst here & for me, she is the visible reminder of the strength it took to beat that habit into submission & regain control of my life.
(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ffarm3.staticflickr.com%2F2871%2F9363705070_d1d7057263_d.jpg&hash=86f7336a21dd1d1dbed9721ee4cfa0fc833a1081)
Similarly, when I stopped regretting having been born & moved beyond suicidal thoughts etc, I added this to my other arm. It, too, is placed on top of scars. It reminds me that there may have been pain in the past & sometimes people turn their backs to one another, but life is a gift worthy of respect.

For something that refers to trans in a subtle way, have you thought about a lion? They represent courage, pride, and they are probably the most visibly male of all animals. I'm thinking of getting one eventually, probably either on my shoulder or upper back.

or an elk without horn, many misgender them cause they got no horn belive there females, but now they notice there males, and they breed as well as as others with horns.
I don't have anything yet, but in the future I want to get my start date tattooed on the back of my neck in Hylian. I think that would be awesome :D (but I haven't even started T yet :/ hopefully soon!)

Though I think you'd have to stand on your head to see it!! (or...) Anyway, I turned the computer upside down and easily saw it, though if I weren't told.. I didn't need someone to tell me that Georgia O'Keefe was painting female body parts though even though they also look like flowers. :)
