Title: dysphoria and depression
Post by: kye92 on July 22, 2013, 07:40:17 PM
How many of you feel depressed from suffering gender dysphoria? Right now I feel isolated and I think that is what is is causing it. I try not to think about it but that just makes it worse....-_-.... I wish I could stop feeling this way..........but I can't.........and that just makes my life awful....-_-............I know I'm probably transgender but that just makes my life even worse..................because now I know I'll never have a family,or get married or do things that normal people do............-_-.................its depressing.................and  I don't think anyone would want to date someone transgender..........that's depressing too.............-_-...........meh......

Big hug! This is a classic case of piling everything up and deciding the mountain is too high. You're like the rest of us, you have to take one thing at a time. Hugs, Devlyn

Welcome to Susan's Place. Hugs, I think my depression and to some degree dysphonia had decreased through working with a gender therapist and taking positive steps to identify and become my inner self on my outside.

I had severe depression for years because of the way I felt.  I felt depressed both for feeling transgender and the fact that I couldn't do anything about it.  Starting therapy and being able to discuss these feeling with a professional was very cathartic and finally allowed me to express myself.

It may seem like you're going to miss out on some things in the future if you move forward with transitioning, but the upsides that it'll bring will outweigh any of those.  Just being able to be yourself all the time and not having constant depressing thoughts and feelings has made it all worth while.

I have and still feel the same as you, all i can say is that you have to not think like that, there are people who accept transgenders out there.
