I've been lurking here for quite awhile. I've always known that I'm a female inside, but have been fighting myself over it. And I fight hard! I guess really the hardest part for me is that I like girls. I've always hated men. I never wanted to be one, I really have a hard time even being in the same room as them. And yet, the world generally perceives my femininity as being some gay dude. I'm not entirely sure where to go with this, I really just want a girlfriend that considers me to be a female and still loves me and is attracted to me physically. I guess the biggest fear is that I will be alone after I transition, though I'm alone now, and most definitely will be forever if I keep pretending to be a guy.
Hi Veronica,
Yep we have lots of confusing stuff to deal with, but no matter what there are members who have experience of it.
So welcome to the site, settle on in and ask away some questions.
We are all family here and we do know what it is like to be trans*
Hugs

hi veronica, I think that's a fear we all share, but there is hope i myself had a relationship with a girl while only 2 months into transition. it was great she saw and treated me like a girl even though i was far from the appearance. Since that experience i haven't dated out of choice until im where i want to be in transition but the prospects are definatly there. more often than not its bi women but non the less the hope is there. the worst thing i think anyone can do when looking for a significant other is be someone they are not. Likewise many of the women i know look for someone who is honest about who they are its very attractive. I have had more interaction with potential mates during my transition than i ever had lieing about who i was actually most women thought i was gay and so ignored me outside the friend realm. there are of course no guarantees in this life but its not so black and white and i believe being yourself is the first step towards finding someone who makes you happy.
