Title: Non-binary gender markers - how to get one.
Post by: Jamie D on July 24, 2013, 08:13:56 PM
With the new release and upgrades, the non-binary gender markers are again available.

Besides "Male" and "Female," we now have "Intersex," "Androgyne," "Queer," and "Questioning."

If you have 15 or more posts, you can modify your Forum Profile to show a gender marker - it is entirely optional.

On your Tool Bar, click on "Profile" and then on "Forum Profile" from the drop down menu.

Scroll down to the "Gender" field and select an option from the box.  If you have a marker, and want none, select the blank top line.

When you are done with the selection, scroll down to the bottom right and click on the "Change Profile" button.

If you need help, just contact me by PM, or send me an email with your request.  I can put one in for you.   :)

How about non-binary?  I prefer the term over androgyne.

can't we have an "alien" marker...? "unknown" would also be an interesting option.

The "not applicable" option can always be left as blank.  We certainly do have some members who feel genderless (neutrois), or reject to concept of gender altogether.

Exo-genders are somewhat beyond the scope of this site.  Though, if we have some extraterrestrials sign up as members, I am sure Susan will do her best to accommodate them.  Seeing as sexual reproduction seems to be evolutionarily advantageous, I suggest that off-planet aliens might have a similar mechanism.
