Title: Neck
Post by: Bardoux on July 30, 2013, 06:11:37 AM
Hi all,

I was wondering if people have noticed changes in their neck sizes over the course of transition? I started with quite a big neck naturally :( which got even more pronounced with weightlifting prior to transition. I've been on HRT for 5 1/2 months and have noticed a lot of my muscles over my body have either turned into fat or changed shape which is fantastic, but whilst i am seeing some changes with my neck, it is still quite thick.

Anyone had experiences of changes?

Neither my neck, nor my muscles have changed that much at all. I'm the same exact weight I was when I started transition five months ago. I'm going to start taking a progesterone and hoping that helps. P is known to help lower T levels and help with overall feminization. Some people say it won't, whatever. I'm not going to be on it forever and I hear good things and I know some people who are just on P and E and have excellent results. P itself is a potent AA. Prolly more so then spiro. I hate spiro. But yeah I'm hoping this diminishes some of my muscles.

From what I can tell your neck looks fine.
I am also worried about how I will look if/when I begin my journey. My neck is 19" around and my shoulders are 20 " wide.

The female neck tends to be somewhat less muscular and thinner.  But there is such a wide variation, it is not the most obvious "tell" for any MtF or FtM.

You look great Bardoux. The only pick that is questionable is the first one with that worried look. It just says that there is something wrong just by your expression. The other three including your avatar look natural and fem. Your neck is pretty clost to a girls proportion. Perhaps it has gotten smaller so slowly that to you it is imperceptible?

In either case from your pics you are passing now. So worry not about the neck.  ;)

I totally agree.

Especially in that last picture I see a long, feminine neck. You're lucky. I'm terrified about my short neck and how it'll look as I transition. You look amazing already!

Also, as your hair grows longer it'll frame your face and neck and you'll be a cutie. :)

Thank you so much ladies for your re-assuring and lovely comments! :)
It's just been one of those weeks you know, stressed/tired/run down and generally feeling a bit crap about things. Reading though this thread has really helped brighten my mood  :-*
