Title: New to susans need some advice Klienfelter patient
Post by: shufflinggiraffe on July 31, 2013, 03:47:27 AM
Hi all first time on susans,

My name is Simon I am klienfelter syndrome patient I live in Melbourne Australia.

I knew very early on that I was different, I was diagnosed at 16 and put on testosterone and had this up until now.
Ive been seeing a Psychiatrist for 3 years now for what I originally thought was just crossdressing. However over the past 3 years the feelings have become almost unbearable. I dress everyday and its starting to rule my world.

Yesterday I had my psych tell me great news, that I am in fact GID and that he has approved me for HRT in a very low dose.

At work and in my life im a very manly man I enjoy man things 4x4ing building cars and Im a salesmanager to a very one eyed industry Garden Products.

Up until now my insides have been turning and grinding and feeling all sorts of nasty. Things I cant control, its not anxiety and its not depression.

When I dress I feel so natural and at home with my feelings that I desire dressing everyday to feel normal...
Im married with no kids and have been married for 3 years to a supporting wife who is struggling with this as I am.

My ultimate goal is to remain as Simon on the outside but to have my centre feel more Rachel (my female name).

The psych has me going to an Endroconoligist soon and I have been approved for HRT, I currently have testosterone injected into me every 11 weeks. I will be coming off this medication to be replaced with a lose dose E of some description.

Ive been on Susans for ages just scrolling though the pages and I guess I really need some things answered if anyone has any input..

Is there anyone else out there with Klienfelter Syndrome who is doing the same thing?

What kind of effects can I expect within my first 6-12 months on a low dose. - things to note im 6'5" not very muscly, I have slight gynomastia already maybe an A cup. My mother is a H cup...as was her mother eeek.

I thought that the weight of the world would lift off me, but its quite the opposite.. I now have a bunch of new stressors which I guess I want to know is this normal??

I really would appreciate your views on this and I thank you for taking the time to read my story.

Simon xx

Hi Simon, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 6831. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister

The problems of people with Kleinfelter's are a bit different than those with transgender since it is believed that transgender people have a more brain/body issue, whereas you'd have a body/body/brain issue. NOt sure if I worded that right!!!
Anyway, there is an Intersex Talk forum in susan's. You can look around and might find it. My understanding is that Kleinfelter's is rare but definitely not to the point that someone here doesn't probably have it or know about it.
